last years O-Line signees:
4* OG Kardell Thomas
4* OG Anthony Bradford
3* OT Thomas Perry
4* LT/TE Ray Parker
3* C/TE Charles Turner
-
no it wasn't the best O-Line class, but we did get two quality Guards who will be very good starters one day
-
2020 Projected O-Line Class:
5* OT Paris Johnson (4* OT Marcus Dumerville if we miss out on Paris)
4* OT Cortland Ford
4* C Sed Van Pran
3* OG Miller Merriweather-Lewis
3* OG Marlon Martinez
-
i see all 5 O-Line commits red-shirting next yr, so when 2020 signees arrive all 10 of these players will be Freshman or Red-shirt Freshman
-
AND FINALLY, here is what a 2019/2020 O-Line lineup would look like:

LT: Paris Johnson ----- LG: Kardell Thomas ----- C: Sed Van-Pran ----- RG: Anthony Bradford ----- RT: Cortland Ford

Then you have these dudes to challenge for playing time and develop:

Thomas Perry
Ray Parker
Charles Turner
Miller Merriweather-Lewis
Marlon Martinez
most likely Cam Jackson

Things are looking good in the trenches.

That OL class is insane, but I see Van Pran going to UGA.

Both Paris and Dumerville are not locks. You are assuming we are getting recruits that arent even committed.

He was wrongly shaded on the final 24/7 composite rankings and dropped to 4 star

Not gonna cut it, especially where OT is concerned.

I’m sorry but no one of note is projecting this. It means nothing. A thread on tiger droppings isnt a projection unless you just like being disappointed. I hope we get Johnson and I’m not saying it can’t happen but we are talking about a 5 star tackle from Ohio that is currently committed to Ohio state. It’s more of a wish list.

It would be great to get a 2020 class like this:
quote:

2020 Projected O-Line Class: 5* OT Paris Johnson (4* OT Marcus Dumerville if we miss out on Paris) 4* OT Cortland Ford 4* C Sed Van Pran 3* OG Miller Merriweather-Lewis 3* OG Marlon Martinez

I think Paris maybe a stretch though.

I doubt Kardell and Bradford redshirt, but maybe.

AND FINALLY, here is what a 2019/2020 O-Line lineup would look like:

I think you meant 2020/2021. Paris and the others will be HS seniors in 2019/2020. Not trying to be negative. I like the positive outlook and hope you are correct. Thanks for the breakdown.

Meant 2019/2020 commits depth chart.

As for those who doubt we are gonna land Paris, just don’t forget TexasTiger24 was the one who thinks we land him. Next weekend. And I could easily be wrong.

That would be awesome. So I really hope you are right.

You can’t count Paris or Dumervil until you at least get a commitment. What we can look at is the potential if we can develop Rosenthal, Wire, Parker, Ford and CamRon Jackson. The measurements and athleticism is there for all so we need to not only develop them but an offense for them to excel in. I believe an RPO offense will really help them because it doesn’t telegraph our plays and gets the ball out quick at times. We need to prime the pipeline by building an offense that gets these guys drafted. Then let their potential and development get them in the top 2-3 rounds. After that, the high 4 star and 5 star guys will come.

* side note: most of the OT’s drafted in the top rounds are rarely heard of when being recruited. They’re usually late bloomers and work their tail off to get where they are. I believe it’s important to get those highly rated guys while also recruiting on those potentially developmental guys. I believe Wire, Rosenthal and Parker have that potential.

your post made be more worried than I was before. no star power on the line which primarily includes projects. we screwed if recruiting doesn't pick up.

I immediately thought the same thing... “no way all of last year’s OL class gets a RS”. But then I also rememebered the new RS rule where you can play in 4 games and still RS.

I don't have the time today but I wish someone would do this for BAMA's OL class. They are the ones that have nothing to worry about.

Johnson is unlikely to sign with LSU, but maybe he sees the opportunity and jumps aboard.

LSU will fail to meet their potential until they can get better play from both tackles.

The key point here is the RPO does not telegraph plays... one reason for Alabama dominance has been they know most of,our plays pre snap.

I mean Paris is committed to his hometown school as of now, so to project him in a class when no one has projected him to LSU who is paid to do so (on 247 for example) is funny still but let him keep doing him

Edit: meant LSU not OSU above
