I LOVE IT. FEAR THE MAD HATTER. A BALLSY MOVE THAT, ONCE AGAIN, TURNED OUT TO BE AN OUTSTANDING ONE.

GEAUX TO HELL BAMA AND GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR BONE-THUGS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY.

TRENT RICHARDSON WILL MAKE R.P. LOOK LIKE A CUB SCOUT!!(TOTALLY BASELESS STATEMENT BUT WHO CARES).....

I don't doubt it was a program and business move. But it was also classless

I presume you are being intentionally obtuse so as to cause friction ... because anyone with more than a few brain cells knows that this is how the recruiting system works ... there are near 500 schools that have a limited number of scholarships to hand out for football and all are doing so on the same day ... like 5,000 pachenko balls all falling simultaneously and hoping to find a spot to land before all the spots are taken ... what a clusterfvck ... scholarship offers are pulled ALL THE TIME ... the only remarkable difference here is the publicity

right, it doesn't matter when the visit was, or why he chose auburn

he DIDN'T chose LSu b/c he coudln't

LSU didn't pull late tuesday night/wednesday b/c of a visit he took weeks ago and after a phone call confirming their decision to stick with him

in the end, it worked out. tangerine has some more ammo to bash LSU on, benton hopefully, finally gets into an SEC school, miles' integrity is questioned by some, and we get randle.

it worked out.

Coach Miles cannot win.
If Randle went to Bama tons of fans would want Coach Miles' Head on a platter. Hell on this very board their were folks sayin that if we did not get Randle this class would be a disappointment. Coach Miles had a tough decision to make...he made it and I believe the correct one. (TIME WILL TELL) No matter what I wont blame him for it.

Some of the most low life liars in the coaching business exist in the SEC. I"ll take Coach Miles over all of em. AND YES grades do play a role in this decision you need to look no further than RJF to figure that out.

It's also obvious that Guilbleaux is a $aban fan by the article he released just before NSD. Thats okay but he should be doing his reporting from Tuscaloser instead of Baton Rouge.

however, it is not LSU's fault in the least that benton couldn't get his shite together for two years even with LSU's help and support.

and LSU decided this the night before? Not.

agree there, the result ended okay, but the process stunk

as long as the damage to the bastrop bridge can be repaired and this doesn't damage future early committs too much, all is well that ends well

simply answer this...in your opinion, why did LSU pull bentons offer?

I don't know...

and CAN'T know until I know all the facts, which I don't have at this time.

the silent commit stuff makes some sense, but why did everybody and their mom think that benton was committed to LSU tuesday?

if randle/his father really did throw a hissy fit on the radio the night before signing day then there is a really, and i mean really, big lack of communication. you think benton would lie to randle and his family like that to frick with them?

did benton also lie to bradshaw?

and then i don't get why benton had the schollie yanked and a "tough decision" had to be made. there was no "tough decision" with kenny bell. he just made a gameday switch.

if benton did silently commit to AU that's one thing, and whatever. if that's the truth then what happened the past 40 hours or so doesn't really make sense

obviously too early to see what kind of damage that it's done to the bradshaw/LSU relationship, but IMO, it can be repaired.

On a different note, does anything think that the JJ issue has anything to do with yesterday? I have not really thought about it and do not know anything about JJ and his contacts or if this mattered to him at all

however, he got the better prospect in this situation.

so in that case he does win.

if the situation that i'm disucssing happened, morally i have a problem with it, but that's just a lil annoying voice. if i was put in that situation, i'd have done the same thing. it was the smart thing to do

that's why i'm thankful that AU stepped into the picture late and Benton didn't end up in a bad situation (esp with his grade risks)
