Big misconception right here. The way the pass protection works its not as difficult for shorter guys to see downfield. You can also adjust a guy drop back steps to make it easier or him to scan the field (ala Drew Brees)

Mett is 6'5" and Rivers is 6'6" or 6'7" - Gunner Kiel is almost short by comparison - Randall is going to need a box if he stands in the pocket with those guys.
