Now it’s better to just have an X and Os coach and a general manager with the funds to pay for a good roster. NCAA is like the minor leagues now.

Hmmmm.

Why not get both.

I see what youre saying though.

But some pro coaches are good x/o guys and may not be able to recruit worth a darn.

Those that can do both are coveted.

It fits perfectly with America since 2008-09. A very small group of colleges will get richer and the rest will be fighting for the crumbs. Does LSU have the Alumni that will throw out millions upon millions to get the players?

Something of that sort probably has already happened. Think, a 5 star recruit commits to fill in the "Blank" blue blood program. Signs a contract with a firm, legitimate that promises to pay him $$$$ after he signs with the school and shows up on campus mid-term. If player does not sign with said school, contract is null and void.

Lots of business contracts have contingent payment options, you hit certain targets, your compensation is $$$$ more, you miss it, you don't get the extra $$$$$.

I disagree. It hasn't m0rphed into that yet. I mean, go ahead, can you name a hundred players in the country who have NIL deals yet?

We are looking at another form of bribes to Congress from lobbyists and campaign contributions but with college and high school players

Yes, potentially, which is why the contracts with recruits is very risky. Legally, every state law I have read does not allow anything to be signed before they are enrolled on campus Do I think it likely is already occurring, yes, but it is more of what it would look like once you are on campus. You think Saban announcing Bryce Young's $1 million dollar deal was random and indicates what a say 5 star can get going into their 2nd year (he is a QB of course). Now, I think while the deals in principal may be in place, there are bills that indicate companies can't rescind deals if they have less than 1 year.

So I think the deals are set in place and will be signed once the kid signs the scholarship and enroll. But deals in principal are already likely happening.

All the more why the Federal Government, who already is involved, will pass Federal laws on this. Too much Tax revenue issues, Medicare, Medicaid. Look at all the bills that are already being proposed

I guess the Ivy League will start gaining ground on the SEC eventually with all the rich alumni.

The money will even out at all the major schools. Then what’s sets schools apart is the coaches recruiting skills. We’re not competing against ULL and Air Force for recruits now and that won’t change with NIL. There will be guys we miss out on because our ‘offer’ isn’t as good as another school…exactly like what happens now.

LSU’s direction is not going to help financial contributions. Other than Bernhard, most of the people in LA with money aren’t really fans of President Potato and Honor Choade and LSU going full on stupid with all the woke shite and appointing a Socialist as President isn’t going to open very many wallets.
