Funny that the article refers to him as a "man-child." Not a phrase I typically see in print--at least not in mainstream media.

6-1, 215 power runner

4.47 in the 40

quote:

A gifted power runner and athlete, Johnson also competed in track and basketball. As a sprinter and shot putter, Johnson had personal bests this spring of 10.7 in the 100 and a throw of 51 feet in the shot. He was a shooting guard in basketball capable of dunking two-handed. He bench presses 370 pounds, squats 490 and power cleans 275.

He's definitely an athlete. With the increased work load in a more high profile program his SR year, he will shoot up the ranking lists as well.

Great offer sheet.

We got a really good one here, no doubt.

Now, if we could just get a really shifty speed back, we are all set.

Anyone think he will redshirt? With Scott, Keiland, and Murph here, and Ridley as our last resort, does anyone think we will really NEED him any time soon? I mean, we got Ford last year, who I personally believe will become our best back in a while, so would you redshirt Storm or not?

No. He will not be here this season; he's in the 2010 class. CS and KW are seniors this year; they will be gone when he gets here. RM will be a senior when Storm comes in. Then all that's left is Ford and Ridley who will be just a year removed from rehabing a torn ACL. Ridley might get the redshirt (medical) this year.

Hope he saves some for us...that's a bunch of carries..but he should have some incredible numbers his senior year...

I read that he will be starting at TB for a class 4 team that made the GA playoffs in the fall. Should we expect him to move up among RB prospects if he posts a good season at the bigger school?

Being 17 is a plus. He will grow and hopefully get stronger and faster. A 10.7 in the 100 is not that fast. Fast is 10.0 and under. Now 4.4 in 40 is good. He must have a quick start for a big man.
