Nope dumbass. I think Gus will still be there next year so I think the numbnuts that said that is a retard.

Very intelligent rebuttal. Auburn education at its finest on display.

I didn't necessarily say we would be the ones stealing, now did I? I'm just saying that he is not going to be a lock IMHO until Malzahn is committed one way or the other. I understand your opinion, but you have less to base it on than I do. Can you give me a hotter assistant coach name right now? Charlie Strong always comes up, but for some reason, never seems to get the job. I'm sure some people will look at Houston's HC, as well. But you are either completely blind or completely stupid if you think Malzahn will turn down an HC job from a BCS school. Look no further than your own program for the reason why. Noel Mazone, and a hundred other at one time hot item of the year assistants, for that matter. Guys who waited for the bigger fish, and then saw their stock and fortunes fall. You can't turn down the big show when the offer comes, because you never can tell what will happen beyond your control that will affect your status in a negative way.

I can guarantee you that every Non-BCS school with an opening will look at Malzahn, but there are several possible BCS openings, most notably Louisville that surely will, as well. They can offer more money than AU will be able to pay him as an assistant. They are also in a weak conference and have had strong offenses recently. He would be able to recruit there easily and could win a Big East title and be in a BCS bowl within 3 years. So he would make less money and, with Chizik being a young guy himself, there is obviously no coach in waiting possibility. Tell me how you will hang onto him? What evidence, if any, are you basing your flame fest on?

Even if Malzahn leaves, there is no guarantee that any of your recruits jump, but do you really think they wouldn't stop and think about it until they see everything shake out? Malzahn has turned what was a horrible mess into a really good offense (although not unstoppable as we have seen the last two weeks) in one year. That is a real accomplishment. Do you think those shoes will be easy to fill, especially in the short time frame you would have between the end of the bowls and recruiting wrap-up?

Go ahead and flame away, but you cannot deny that this could happen. The preponderance of the circumstantial evidence is on my side.

I don't know what the hell he just said. No way I am reading all the shite.

And I am plenty confident I am both better educated and smarter than he is anyway.

Anyway, guess we will see who is right and who is wrong regarding whether or not Gus remains at AU at season's end.

Edit: I did just notice the last sentence of his manifesto. He used a couple of pretty damn big words, so maybe he is smarter than me.

FWIW, I was being more critical of "the sky is falling" Tigers that populate our boards lately in my original post. It was not aimed at you specifically. I just don't appreciate being flames for having an opinion. We have our warts, especially this year, but that certainly doesn't mean the sky is falling. I personally don't believe that Chizik will come in and take 2 of the top people off our board, especially if he is missing the secret offensive ingrediant. Auburn may be a lot better this year, but you guys aren't all the way back either, which should make for an interesting game next week.
