Seems like that might be a priority given how our OL has played this year.

I’ve been saying that interior line is just as much a need as OT.

I understand that miles ruined the ot position by bumping guards out And letting 6-7”pocic play center, but all five positions are important to recruit for.

I think the kid from Michigan will play guard.

I can see that, but either way they need 2 OT and 2 OG minimum this year. They can use a center too. Crazy to think it’s almost Leigh or bust this late in the game.

okay man.

just saying that you have to recruit interiors & tackles. you can't just recruit clones to play all 5.

example would be that ben wilkerson was amazing at center but not sure he could have easily moved to ot. make sense?

Miles was right about moving Pocic to C because he was just average at tackle but he was a very good C.

At this point, we just need OL recruits on board. Having one commit is troublesome. Maybe the staff feels good about some guys, but that means nothing if they aren’t committed or signed. We can’t keep trying to patch things together every year and expect to have great results.

except that 6-3 320 nose tackles were cantilevering him off the line to no fault of his own.

They tend to get squattier in the middle.
Taller at the end.

Except he has made a career with a good team as a center in the nfl.

Except that I am talking about LSU and don’t care about the Seahawks.

It was in his draft grade. Yes he was a good center. Just not optimal over the years where we had 5 great players at every position.

Are you starting to say that our olines with miles were top three in the conference?

I believe the Harvard transfer, Eric Wilson, is one they are looking at for guard.

I hope the OT from Michigan, Garrett Dellinger, ends up at one of the tackle positions (probably Right Tackle). The kid is supposed to be a legit talent, so hopefully they don’t have to end up putting him inside.

Also, Kimo Makaneole projects to be a guard if we can flip him from FSU

Also think Dellinger will end up inside but I get your point. It seems we've become so fascinated with OT recruiting that the interior has been forgotten. Doubt that's the case but for appearance sake.
One problem we have is that we actually have plenty of guard types but some of them just haven't shown to be very good. So if the roster numbers are good but we still aren't getting good guard play then in order to bring kids in you first must move kids out. That's the dilemma. It seems the plan was to have those guys be better and they haven't been. Hence looking for immediate help at the position

I mean, you're wrong tho. The guy is a starting NFL center and you're saying he wasn't a good fit at center.

I’m more ok with taking OTs and moving them inside than I am moving OG to OT

Hopefully the lack of a proper off-season is holding him back. I say hopefully because the alternative is that either he’s a bust or isn’t being coached or rehabbed properly. He’s young, so I still think there’s a good chance it’s door number 1.

This is why you should be our head coach!!! You may have to resubmit your application though,. I am sure it got misplaced under the SEC Championship, Joe Moore, or BCS Championship trophies.......
