Do you really think that every decision on capital that the wealthy make is for ROI? Once you attain a certain level of wealth it’s a dick measuring contest…

Don’t contort 30m as a lot of money for some individuals. There is a ton of liquidity flowing to the top and 30m is a drop in the bucket for a significant amount of individuals.

You seem to think that there is a DIRECT proportion of NIL to endowment monies. Others are taking you literally and saying that endowment money cannot be spent on NIL.

Of course endowments cannot be used for NIL, but where you are wrong is your assumption that endowment amount = NIL ability. While those things may be related, you are assuming that that relationship is way too close.

LSU just paid huge buyouts plus new contracts. Without that happening, LSU is in the game for just about every player they want.

That doesn't include the PUF and AUF , which are in the $40 to 50 billion range, and many other resources.

PUF

We ain't winning this battle.

You’re going to hammered for this because 99% of this board is littered with borderline retards. They really believe a highly rated recruit is going turn down 100k+ per year to choose LSU because he’s from Louisiana or because he grew up loving them! Their mind is so unfunctional they can’t even admit they’d do the same thing!

They really think LSU can compete with a Texas school on a money level!

Restaurants and personal injury attorneys are exactly the type of things NIL was meant for. The money being given out by A&M is NOT NIL. It's just bags of cash so calm down.

I think people way overestimate how valuable a college football player is to their company/brand. Especially when college football players don't exactly stand out nationally and are small fish in big ponds in the big money areas.

Big corps have no need for college athletes unless that college player is very well established, so absolutely no high school athletes are getting jack shite from a big company.

Great post. Should be pinned at the top of the board. Do you think A&M Billy's Land Surveying company needs Shemar Stewart to increase sales? Wake up, people.

The endowment is meaningless outside of being an indicator of local financial might, IMO. LSU needs to find a way to play small ball with a broader group of local businesses and trade groups. They also need to find a way to get our alumni pro athletes more involved. The money is out there, they just need to cast a very wide net.

I think some type of regulation will come soon. Things cant stay like they are, unless the NCAA wants college football to become a cesspool of illicit cash deals and unregulated free agency. If LSU can hold the line until that happens, they'll be OK.

Guys, when Vanderbilt alumnus decide they want a football team we are so freaking fricked. Don't even get me started with in-state rival Tulane

The only argument this clown can make is using booster donations as a % of total enowment assets to show the alumnus' willingness to donate to athletics. Of course he's not doing that.
