Per On3:

Jaylan Beckley – OT – 2025 – Addison (Texas)

The Trinity Christian standout held four offers ahead of his appearance at LSU camp: Mississippi State, Houston, Duke and Memphis. After LSU made multiple stops to see Beckley in Texas, the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder made his way to Baton Rouge and was sharp during position drills and one-on-one matchups. He showed good aggression on top of an upside that’s evident with his frame and athleticism. With an LSU offer now handed out, Beckley is firmly on the Big Board for the Tigers in the 2025 class.

Darius Afalava – OT – 2025 – Lehi (Utah)

The Utah native is ranked by On3 as a Top 25 offensive tackle prospect from the crop of sophomores in the 2025 class. And after his performance at LSU’s camp on Friday, the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder did enough to grab his first Southeastern Conference scholarship offer. Afalava entered the day with eight scholarship offers – all from West Coast schools like Oregon, Utah, Washington and others. By the time his camp showing ended in Baton Rouge, offers were in from not just LSU, but also Baylor.

JaReylan McCoy – DL – 2026 – Tupelo (Miss.)

McCoy turned heads before even taking the field. Listed at 6-foot-7, 240 pounds as a ninth grader, the Mississippi native is one of the more physically impressive defensive linemen in the 2026 cycle. McCoy is long, lean and showed some nice burst in drills, and he’s a handful for offensive linemen in pass rush situations. Newly-hired LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey was the first college coach to offer McCoy, which came during his time at South Carolina. Now at LSU, Lindsey got McCoy to campus, worked him through drills and extended an offer from the Tigers.

Jalan Chapman – OT – 2026 – New Orleans (La.)

Chapman was one of a handful of talented 2026 offensive linemen on hand, and he left campus with an offer from the LSU staff. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder won a starting job at offensive tackle as a true freshman at Warren Easton this past season. With three years of high school football still ahead, Chapman looks the part of one of the top recruits in Louisiana’s 2026 class. Chapman is one of just three offensive linemen who picked up an LSU offer following their freshman seasons in 2022.

Is this a new way of hosting weekends under Kelly? By position group, I mean?

OL/DL camp. This staff is just more proactive with younger offers and apparently a little better at getting good prospects to this particular version of camp. Usually not a lot comes from it offer wise.

At this rate, they may even be recruiting kids at the youth camp later this month

Why stop with every other sport known to man? Football is the only sport where evaluating 11/12 year olds isn't commonplace and standard.

I guess it’s because you never know how big they will get, that 6’0 225 8th grade offensive lineman may never make it to 6’4, 300.
