2 came in last night, both from USC insiders. They were tagged with a 5 and a 6 confidence level

What do 2 USC insiders know about an Atlanta kid?

Sup with the downvotes? It’s an honest question

Nope - USCw - 247 lists us, UF, Oregon and USCw as the “warm” offers. His only previous CB prior to the two mentioned was for Oregon a couple of months back.

That's interesting, ESPN doesn't even show that he has an offer from LSU. I'm sure it's just ESPN sucking at updating their recruiting page.

I think Billy Embody mentioned on Hester/Hanny earlier in the week that Wiggins is originality from California.

Scouting Report:

quote:

Two-way standout with the skill set to end up at three different positions in college. Is a high end prospect at receiver, corner and safety. He’s a smooth athlete, very skillful an uses his long 6-2 frame to win jump ball battles on both sides of the ball. As a corner, he shows good ball awareness and ball skills, the quickness and change of direction to shadow a receiver and enough long speed to run with some of the faster players down the field. As a receiver, he catches the ball naturally, runs well after the catch and shows goo timing on contested 50-50 balls. He has a lean frame with more of a corner frame but could grow in to a rangy safety where his cover skills would be very affective in coverage. Shows high end instincts and a natural feel for the corner position and that’s probably where his upside is highest. Projects as an impact upper tier Power 5 starter and future mid round NFL draft pick.

247 Article

quote:

On Saturday, Atlanta (Ga.) four-star cornerback Nathaniel Wiggins confirmed with 247Sports recruiting analyst Blake Alderman that he would make his college decision on August 28.

At 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Wiggins has college offers from more than 40 programs, though most have felt a pair of West Coast schools in Southern Cal and Oregon and two SEC programs in Florida and LSU have made the biggest splash thus far.

They are the absolute worst and I hate that they get the most publicity around signing day.

Pretty sure those guys just switched their picks from usc to LSU. Good news for us either way.

6-2 170lbs

Not sure that's an LSU safety. Sounds like good fit for the nickel with his size and versatility.

I’m not saying he can’t play nickel, but a 6’2 guy as fluid as he looks in space should be on the outside against bigger receivers. He looks a lot like our corners in the last two classes: long, lean, athletic.

How does the board like Wiggins compared to Isaiah Johnson?

I agree. Watching his film and how purely athletic and fluid he us he reminded me of a young Pat Pete when he was raw. Not putting him on that level. Just saying athletically there looked to be a lot of similarities.

He has the best film I’ve seen for what Raymond usually likes in a corner. Tall, fast, great hips, and has incredible ball skills. I’m no DB expert but I’d say he’s as good as any of the other DB’s in the class.

I’d like to see us get Wiggins and Johnson and be done with it. I dont know how this McKinstry recruitment will play out, but having those two locked up would be good with me.

With that frame can obviously carry more weight. I can see him swing between both depending on need. Go get him O.
