Actually, does it even say he is “interested” in LSU? From the link he posted, it just lists the schools that have offered him. Not sure that really indicates an interest level by him.

I thought White was the only prospect in this weekend. Anyone know how that went?

100% sure Matthews was in on an official visit this weekend. Tiger Rag will have a story on it this week. Both Matthews and White were on LSU Campus this weekend.

Hmmmm, well that is both extremely interesting and exciting. Billy even just had a story about Matthews not even having any plans for visits at any schools in place yet.
I wonder why all the secrecy on him coming in. Hopefully it means Wade is getting to him before anyone else can and closes the deal before letting him see his options.

In not so great news, I’m hearing things are a bit smoky with the Waters situation. The staff had no idea he was putting his name in. At first glance it seemed like maybe something they would recommend for him to get some feedback from GM’s. But I heard this came as a total shock to them, that he has been missing some classes.. and they are pretty worried. Paging macadoih for maybe some more info.
Hopefully nothing comes of it. I don’t think he will get drafted if he hires an agent, and only has a TON to gain by coming back. Still will be absolutely shocked if he bolted and Wade would be devastated. But from what I thought was a sure thing return now might get interesting

That would be devastating if he didn't come back. Would be one of the worst decision I've seen recently if he doesn't. He is primed to have a huge season with a ton of easy assists next year playing with NBA caliber talent.

You can withdraw by June 11 and still go back to school as long as you didnt hire an agent, the deadline to declare was 4/22.

I'm all for guys getting paid what they are worth as soon as they can get it. That said, unless there are some other issues we don't know about, him leaving would be a terrible decision. His measurables aren't going to change except he may get stronger and more explosive in LSU's weight program (not a bad thing). If he stays, he likely enters the season as a preseason all SEC pick on a team that will garner FAR more attention this year from NBA scouts and GM's than they did last season

Completely agree. While we have a great class coming in, coupled with solid returnees and transfers; Waters is the type of guard you generally see teams making deep runs in the tournament with. Definitely hope he is back for at least one more year.
As for the attending class stuff, I do know he posts on social media pretty regularly and he has posted a few things while in class recently; so he is still attending at least. But he does make statements about being tired of school and what not. But what college student hasn’t said that at some point, especially freshman year. Also, many of his posts are generally of him on campus, or hanging out with Bigby-Williams. He’s also posted some of the two of them working out in the b-ball practice facility. I say all that to say he is at least still around campus doing things and hasn’t run off to some other location to work out full time to prepare for draft.
But with the coaches being taken by surprise; do you think that is the involvement of his dad rearing its ugly head? When LSU got on him last year; many on here suggested that his dad was a highly involved parent (almost a Lavar Ball type) and would be a possible headache to staff. We never really saw any signs of that during the season; but maybe this is all being pushed by him now. I don’t know that any of that is true; but just throwing out a possible thought.

It has to be his parents. Waters had a great year overall, but some seriously bad stretches. Considering he’s 5’10 and can play defense, he can’t slump and has to bring elite offense every game to ever make an impact in the nba

IT was just against SEC teams for most part. His OOC numbers vs. his conference numbers are staggeringly different. He shot like under 30% from 3 in conference play and under 37% overall.

Which is even more concerning considering we didn’t play that many good OOC teams. If you can’t be consistent in the SEC, you won’t be consistent in the NBA either
