Yes blame the kids, blame the parents, blame ESPN, blame the NCAA for not doing anything(not that they can anyway)
But whatever you do don't blame yourself for turning recruiting into the hoopla it is today.
You know why these kids put on a show for their selections? Cause there is an audience for it

I hate Bama, but I gotta admit when Andre Smith pulled out the houndtooth fedora, it had to be pretty sweet for the Gumps.
They are just kids. They say & do immature things, you know, like you used to do.
Sure, most of the hat games annoy me, but there are plenty of other immature things they do that also annoy me, but I'm not begging for a law to stop them from incessant texting at the dinner table, growing Bieber bangs, or wearing skinny jeans. That's the parent's problem.

The NCAA can't and doesn't do much about the things that are actually under its jurisdiction that ought to be done and you expect them to make rules about something that they don't have any control over and doesn't matter in the least?

It is sort of a big deal in their lives so let them do as they pleased. I did the same thing when i chose my college. Ok i only applied to lsu, and it was just me putting on my lsu hat this one time after picking it up off a table as a left the room. still was fun though
