how is it really much worse than the scout and rivals services that make money off of these kid's names?

I was thinking about the content on the site not his motives.

to me it sounds like, with the website, the NCAA is checking to see if the money was funnelled back to his athletes that train under him. It is a question of amatuerism, which these athletes would lose if they rec'd money from a website like this.

Indeed that would be a violation, but the main thing they will be looking into is if there exists an agency agreement between Butler and his athletes

I really don't see what is in it for Butler, if there is not. It sounds like he is setting up an agency situation to help with the kids recruitment and having the kids pay him for being their "trainer." Paying a personal trainer is totally OK, but you cannot enter into an agency agreement.

I'm going to be fair with this guy. I understand it looks terrible on the surface. Right now, after thinking about it, there hasn't been any news or any allegations brought upon Butler.

Remember, he did the same thing for Arthur last year.....we knew Butler's name last year......Since he's signed with Miami, what else have you heard? Right. Nothing. I'm starting to lean to the fact that he may just be looking for his meal ticket once the kids get into the NFL, while at the same time, staying legal within NCAA rules waiting it out.

I agree. It would seem to me that Butler may profit if he transitions into being a pro agent when a few of his college kids break through. He can become their friends as early as he wants so long as he keeps it within the lines here. Personally, it seems distasteful to me, but if it is well controlled now, it is probably not a problem. The problem will come when he does get a pro athlete agency contract. Then it would seem that he should be barred from hanging with the high school kids.
