that's a pretty good list of sleeper recruits

as of yet, none have done anything (most are young, so it's not a big deal and this discussion is not yet ripe)

Very good list. I would add Cameron Fordham and Houston Bates from this year's class (and maybe Mathieu, despite his Tennessee camp).

Pretty sure Hester was recruited by Saban and played his freshmen year in 04 under Saban, but I do believe Ciron Black was a Les Miles Recruit

Alex Hurst wasn't a big recruit, but the coaches are high on him, and he could start next year at tackle.

Should Pep Levingston be on the list?

and who was the head coach when he signed on the dotted line (the only thing that matters)?

in this discussion that is irrelevant

we're discussing (1) finding (2) under the radar kids

it's impossible to say miles "found" ci black for LSU when another coach had already gained his commitment

Then we're really just in a pissing contest here.. right? Doesn't really seems like it matters who "found" him to me.

Carry on

Not sure how joshua downs is considered a sleeper. He seemed to get a lot of hype later on, especially from his performance on national tv.

Tyson was the 9th ranked prospect in LA, and 14th ranked player in his position nationally. If Rivals was giving more 4-stars that year, he definitely would have gotten one.

People screamed bloody murder on here when Downs comitted, because he was not highly regarded and at the time everyone thought he was going to be a center.

Downs was surely a sleeper, and probably a good one. But like most every other name thrown out so far from the Miles era, has not yet proved it on the field. Maybe Miles didn't pick many sleepers in his first couple of classes and only in the last one or two has he started doing it, so it's too early too judge Miles' eye.

Exactly. I started the thread trying to figure out if Miles has a track record - good or bad - with under the radar commitments. Based on the names thrown out so far, it's probably too soon to tell, as most of the names have yet to hit the field (or exhaust their eligibility).

Just because a kid hasn't hit the field doesn't mean he wasn't part of the team.

Well...after reading the thread..and seeing that people like SFP get upset when you say 3-star recruits are sleepers...then how many real sleepers are you gonna have in a program that is consistantly in the top 5 recruiting wise? I guess none.

You shouldnt have asked this question...it doesnt apply to LSU...we dont recruit sleepers...
