a presence in the paint like this guy along with the rest of our talent....sky is the limit really.

A player like him in the paint is a huge bonus. One issue I thought we had on defense last year was closing out on shooters. When you have a guy like Cisse roaming around, you can run out there harder to force them off their shot knowing you aren't giving up an easy layup

I didn't get to see him play college ball , but he reminds me of Bill Russell's play as a pro down on the blocks. Obviously not as refined or experienced , but his hi-lights are awesome.

His only "negative" is there is not much of an offensive game outside of dunks and putbacks. However, if Watford returns, the LSU could have as good an inside 1-2 punch as their is in the SEC. Both Watford and Cisse can rebound. And much like KBW with Reid, Cisse can kind of mask Watford's defensive issues while allowing Watford to flourish offensively.
A starting line up of:
Cisse
Watford
Days/Manning
Thomas
Smart
would probably be comparable to the 18-19 group. However, this year's team could be a little bit deeper than that group. And if Wade can get them to defend better (even the 18-19 group wasn't all that good defensively) then LSU goes into the season as a true national championship contender

He is developing a game away from the basket for sure. Just based off of training videos. Have to remember, freaks like him don’t have much of a need to have much of a game outside of dunks and putbacks at the high school level. I saw him play once last year in person and didn’t really know him when I got to the gym. We actually were going to see Montverde in the night cap and just got there early enough to see some of the games before. Cisse was the guy I left the gym the most impressed about after watching 4 high level games.

Dang that's saying something because Montverde was LOADED last season with 3 5-stars and a pair of 4 star seniors. They also have a 5-star 2021 kid and another 4 start 2021.

Well and of course they were impressive! I just have seen most of them play before. Cade Cunningham literally was like a crazy number from the field of like 12-13 or something and probably the best player in that gym by far. But like I said, not knowing much about Cisse, he just was the one that stood out and I had no idea LSU was even in it for him at that point either.

This year's team would definitely be deeper. The other thing is that while the 18-19 group had a good mix of experienced and freshman starting talent, the talent coming off the bench was inexperienced.
This year's team (assuming they get Watford back and Cisse) will have at least 3 starters with 1-3 years experience mixed with 2 five star talents in Thomas and Cisse. Then on the bench you will have at least 3 experienced players in Manning/Days (whichever doesn't start), O'Neal (although limited experience), and Leblanc, mixed with 2-3 talented freshmen. That is an insane roster.
For added perspective, using your starting 5, this is what you could see:
Smart, Jr. - 4 star (top 50)
Thomas, Fr. - 5 star
Days, Jr. - 4 star (top 75)
Watford, So. - 5 star
Cisse, Fr. - 5 star
Manning, Sr. - 3 star
O'Neal, RS So. - 4 star (top 100)
Leblanc, So. - 4 star (top 150)
Mwani Wilkinson, Fr. - 4 star (top 75)
Cook, Fr. - 3 star (top 150)
Gaines, Fr. - 4 star (top 100)
INSANE!

ETA: Wilkinson

There's talent, experience, depth and flexibility with that team. Added to that, Wade is the best bench coach LSU has had in my lifetime. You don't even have Josh Gray in that list. Even that is impressive - a 6'11" guy that would have likely seen a fair amount of time this year as a rim protector is an afterthought.

Missing Wilkinson who will play a decent bit IMO. I think Gray relieves Cisse at times and Ezewiro plays some garbage time minutes, he can play now he's just not going to be effective against the decent opponents.

I think for the first time in probably 30 years you can legitimately see LSU on the cusp of a HUGE breakthrough. The talent seems to be there. Offensively, for the last 3 years (particularly years 2 and 3) they have been national championship level elite. Wade is winning SEC games at a remarkable clip (only UK has a better conf. record over the past two seasons...by only 2 games). The last piece of the puzzle, which every recent interview of Wade indicates he FULLY recognizes, is significant defensive improvement.
I know it is two very different sports, but we saw that with the football program. They were performing well with just one glaring deficiency holding them back (offense). A philosophy change occurred in 2019 and........
That's not to say LSU will win the national championship, or even make the Final Four. The NCAAT can be cruel (ask the 2015 Kentucky team that didn't play for the title). But the program seems to be closer to that goal than they have been in a long, long time

Well, I wasn't trying to go through the entire roster, just the ones that would likely see more time or be counted on the most. I put both Cook and Gaines, because at least one will see some good minutes as there will have to be someone to relieve Smart at times.
But I agree with you about Wilkinson. I was doing it off the top of my head and knew I was forgetting someone. I will add him.
Assuming Gray ends up coming, then I agree that he will play some to spell Cisse. I think he'll only be around 5-7 minutes max as I think by SEC play Wade will go more with a smaller - but good length and athletic - lineup when Cisse needs rest or gets in early foul trouble.
