Honestly, you may be the dumbest poster on this entire site. I would lay a wager that your IQ isn't over 90. Seriously. Have you figured out who Loston would commit to if we, gasp, fired the co-DC's? Are you still of the opinion that posters on Tigerdroppings have driven away recruits? Dolt.
No, I haven't seen Clairborne play an entire game. That being said, various scouts and coaches and recruiting services have been exhaustively assessing this class of Louisiana football palyers since they were freshman (if not before that). None of the scouts or recruiting services believe that Clairborne is one of the best players in the state. Moreover, none of the other coaches from the premiere BCS programs in the area believe that he is worthy of a scholarship offer. He doesn't have an offer from one other SEC school. His only BCS offers are from two lower echelon teams.
Now, it could be the case that somehow Clairborne is a brilliant player who just inexplicably slipped through the cracks and wasn't recognized by either the recruiting services or the other coaches. It's possible, but unlikely. It's more likely that he simply isn't as good as the higher rated and more sought after Louisiana recruits. That's what the evidence and reason suggest.
What's interesting is that you place more importance in your reasoning above than the fact that LSU coaches evaluated him at camp, and again in person during the season and felt compelled to offer him now.

recruiting services do miss people from time to time...ex. Lavar Edwards...Maybe the coaches know more than most...JMHO...Relax...Feb. is still over 3 months away...
Remember Mr Clean worked for one of those services. Ya'll trust that childish moron over coaches to evaluate players?

he must have really shown some cover skills at LSU camp
physically, he is very unimpressive... looks like you could fit him inside of Patrick Peterson.. imagine his skinny arse holding on to Julio Jones and getting dragged for 20 yards
hmmmmmm.....
I don't get it, but I didn't get the JUCO DT commit earlier this week either...whatever
let's see how the final numbers work out...this week's recruiting activity almost appears like waving the white flag to me... we must have been embarrassed enough this year by Florida, Bama and UGA that a large majority of targets have given Les and staff enough indication that we may not close like we would have liked to close

Derby you & Dad ever see him play? Yeah.. thought not. Seems his coach & Coach Miles disagree with you & your Dad on every recruit. Why is that Derby?

Well this is quite clear, Hicks is a 4 Star Juco DT & you are simply retarded.

Scout... Rivals didnt even have him as a Top 100 JUCO player until he committed to LSU

No they guys youu called a total waste..Demetruous Byrd, Steven Ridley, Richard Dickson, "Dem Georgia Boys" Perry Riley & Cordian Hagans etc. Interesting you & your Dad havn't liked any recruit Miles has signed, and LSU just had the best 3 year run in LSU history.
Good thing you're over there in Gainesville, doing whatever it is you do there, in Jorts & displaying our Mullet proudly.

Spooky..I bet Miles is all broken up over a $9 pay site run by Alabama folk not doing their job & slighting his players.
The other $9 pay site had Hicks there all along..

Kid is legit. I coached against Claiborne. He'll be fine. Hell of an athlete.
* Fast and can run and catch with the best of them. He can play defense as well...would make a decent FS or nickel.

This is EXACTLY the case. He plays for a team that hasn't done much since the days of Reggie Robinson. He's under the cracks. He's just as good as any player in that part of the state.

you mean the same $9 site that showed McCray, Sheppard, etc. were not big-time players?

I have always liked Byrd and Richard Dickson and you'll never find any post on here to the contrary
I have said as a rule that we don't need JUCO playmakers who will oly give 2 years of service and I believe that as a rule...doesn't mean I didn't think Byrd was a player ...I always liked what Byrd brought to the table and have even supported him on this board when others bashed him
I was never sold Ridley would make an impact in our backfield, and he is 4th string at the moment
It looks like I was dead-on about the Georgia LBs... Riley is ok, but they are far from anything above ordinary

Any chance Morris Claiborne will move up to at least a three star? I was hoping LSU could pull two more five star players so i'm dissapointed that they picked up a two star player. No, i'm not going to read 10 pages to see if my question has already been asked.

Yeah. I think that's where he should be.

Derby, any retort to Pisces posts?

What is so frickin complicated? The staff has been after some of the big national names like Smith, Lynn, and Kirkpatrick. It doesn't look like any of those guys will work out, and it isn't a surprise. LSU isn't going to pull a Patrick Peterson every year, never has and never will (unless the state has a great run of players of that caliber). So they took the guy they liked at camp and had been backburning while waiting to see what happened with the others.
They took the juco DT because we're going to be losing 3 DTs this year along with 3 DEs. Even if you ignore the obvious fact that we're going to need someone to contribute early, having a juco will at least help balance the position out a little. That way we won't be losing so many in a given year, and thus won't have to sign so many in a given year to replace them.

I think the Juco guy may pan out. One thing about Jucos, they are expected to contribute immediatly. Will need that next year. Could be Claiborne isn't as highly rated as he should be because HC's are afraid to step onto his campus. That area was scary 10 years ago, can't imagine it now. Half assed attempt at humor but I am certainly not against miles taking him, even if he isn't highly touted. Could fit a need somewhere, sometime. Wish the kid luck. Its a bit frustrated not to be able to see game film of him though.
