So if MC was recruited as a 2nd CB in this class where do we play Drayton Calhoun?
Calhoun will be a RB/scat back type all over the field player. He might very well have sub 4.3 speed. Some have speculated that he COULD be a corner but I don't think that is anywhere set in stone. I say he's on the other side of the ball.

I hope DC can catch b/c it's going to be tough to get minutes in THAT backfield.

I agree what you are saying with the running back depth, but I think he will be perfect in GC's offense. Trindon is a speedster, but does not have the hands to be a multiposition threat. I think Calhoun can bring this to the table. I also think he is going to be the best surprise out of this class.

Probably Phelon Jones

I don't know. Francois has been speculated and Ron Brooks. I hope Phelon doesn't because I still think he can be a beast.

On Drayton Calhoun:
He may very well be, but one thing is for sure. I am more excited about the future of this class than any other we have had in quite a while. Like Shep said, this could be a "dream team." I'm just anxious to see how the rest pans out on the way to NSD.

It will have to be someone that is a Freshman or RS freshman this year. They would need to be able to play 2 years to make it worth their while. Unless they go DII

Man I really hope Francois doesn't transfer. He looked like he was gonna be a beast. Supposedly he's been in the doghouse though.

I could see Francois transferring since Hatcher looks to be ahead of him and apparently Miles and him haven't gotten along (for whatever reason that may be). But that doesn't affect our CB situation.

My reaction is the same as many of the posters above. Why are we wasting a slot on this guy when there are better players available?
You have never seen Claiborne play, you are a Lemming.

Honestly, you may be the dumbest poster on this entire site. I would lay a wager that your IQ isn't over 90. Seriously. Have you figured out who Loston would commit to if we, gasp, fired the co-DC's? Are you still of the opinion that posters on Tigerdroppings have driven away recruits? Dolt.
No, I haven't seen Clairborne play an entire game. That being said, various scouts and coaches and recruiting services have been exhaustively assessing this class of Louisiana football palyers since they were freshman (if not before that). None of the scouts or recruiting services believe that Clairborne is one of the best players in the state. Moreover, none of the other coaches from the premiere BCS programs in the area believe that he is worthy of a scholarship offer. He doesn't have an offer from one other SEC school. His only BCS offers are from two lower echelon teams.
Now, it could be the case that somehow Clairborne is a brilliant player who just inexplicably slipped through the cracks and wasn't recognized by either the recruiting services or the other coaches. It's possible, but unlikely. It's more likely that he simply isn't as good as the higher rated and more sought after Louisiana recruits. That's what the evidence and reason suggest.

BS! His highlights are just now getting out, and hes improved tremendously in his senior year. He was a standout at the LSU camp, and was put through every drill that the LSU coaches wanted. They think he is someone who slipped through under the radar, and I believe them. You don't know shite about recruiting but what you read, so I'll take the coaches word on it.

That is the worst argument in the world because it could be applied to any recruit in any situation. We could get a commit from a one armed retard who plays for his special ed team and isn't ranked by any service and you might still argue: "I trust the coaches! I'll take their word for it!"

Exactly. Many here are convinced the Coaches call Scarberry or Sonny & for recruiting advice & pick recruits from thier lists.

quote:So you'll take recruiting sites over the coaches? By the way, Sonny said Claiborne was supposed to be moved to a 3-star a month ago, but nobody has got 2 it yet. Its not like this guy isn't known, hes been on insiders short list since the LSU camp.
