Dandy Don has Claiborne listed at 6'1" 185 lbs today on his site and the Scout site that the link takes you to has him at 6'0" 170. Not that the height is really an issue there, but is anybody aware of which weight is more accurate? 185 sounds a lot better than 170 for that height to me...obviously he'd have plenty of time to add strength once in the program, but I'm curious to get a gauge on his frame.

True.
However, when you've got several prospects still VERY interested in you who MAY BE of that ilk, why cash in a highly-valuable scholly on a project??
Williford IS our project for this class. When you at the top, you don't NEED to take projects.
Look, I love that this is a LA kid, and that he seems to love LSU. I just don't understand the pick-up. Seems like it means we may have to pass on someone later who is much closer to a "sure thing" to be a stud in college.

Yeah, I forgot that being a 4* or 5* automatically ensures a successful and productive college career.

Yeah man, duh.

or it could mean that the elite CB's are passing on LSU this year.
who'd we go after at that position?
branden smith? whiff
kirkpatrick? whiff
marcus davis? whiff
so that leaves who?
this is just IMO, but maybe they're project janzen at a safety position, with calhoun at either CB/WR, and claiborne kind of in the same mold.
Ideally, this late in the game, you offer a sleeper after a 'top' guy eliminates you from the game, which smith did not long ago. I believe it was mentioned that they wanted to bring in another CB anyway, so this is obviously it.

The logic of your post will blow the minds of many who are complaining.

4* & 5* players statistically make it to the NFL (indicating a productive college career) MUCH more than 2* & 3* stars.
You can spin it however you want. It's a fact.

Was D.J. Banks ever on our list? Or no because he doesn't fit the LSU mold for a corner?

i'm sure he was on the 'list,' but looking at his measurables, 5'8-9 ain't gonna help you much when LSU's looking for more height in the 5'11-6'0 range.

congrats to the kid, i will be rooting for him
that said, has anybody seen him play? everybody's highlights look good that is why they are highlights... seeing someone play in person gives a true prospective imho

Back this statement up with some facts

I clicked on this thread and expected to see a few dumbass comments, but damn they came out of the woodworks until the informed ones arrived.

Seems like we could have waited until right before signing day to offer him and still get him. Don't get it.

What's the difference between getting him now and getting him right before nsd?

Then reread the thread.

Anybody know if GT was looking at him but not seriously because of grades? Seems like he'd make the perfect option QB with the offense he's running in high school.

reading comprehension is becoming rant-like here. Getting a little annoying.
