Bad stuff happens every year in recruiting. Whether he had a offer but wanted to take visits, or the staff pulled one on him we'll never know. It's a bad deal, but we have Ware and Storm will go to a major college to get a free education and play football.

drove 10 hrs. to do it in person.

That's the part that pisses me off the most.

I can't help but think, "What if this were to ever happen to my son?"

How do you teach your kid to honor his commitments knowing full well that the team your committing to could pull a switcharoo...I don't like this at all, but I know it's all business.

Doesn't mean he has an offer he can commit on right now. I'm sure the coaches settled him down.

My source has never been wrong about anything, nno reason not to trust what he says right now. Especially considering he lives in GA and talks to Storm's coach with regularity.

this might not be true

It is 100% true. He talks to Storm's coach and sometimes Storm himself.

He has no reason to lie about this. He worked for scout and has never lied about anything before.

Personally, I'm glad to see that Storm is mature enough to rationally reflect on the situation and decide that LSU is still the best school for him. A lot of other kids would have basically thrown a temper tantrum.

Obviously it's understandable for him to get frustrated with the situation but I'm glad he settled down and realized nothing is over right now.

I have been through the recruiting process and have had 3 close relatives go through the recruiting process and I can tell you that all offers are not the same. Some are unconditional and some are not. The fact that the coaching staff did not accept his commit and told him to take his visits tells me he has a conditional offer and he is caught up in the numbers crunch at his postion. Maybe he and his family did not understand the type of offer he had but it sounds like the coaches have explained it better to him since he still has LSU as his leader but he is now going to make his visits. This will give him and LSU the time they need to work things out. I would be willing to bet if we get Lache or Blue, Storm will commit to FSU and if we don't he will be a Tiger. It seems to me the staff wants one speed back and one power back in this class and they had Ware rated higher as the power back. Storm seems to be the back-up plan if we don't land a speed back. JMO

While I have nothing to base this on, my gut feeling is that Storm's family knew that he had a conditional offer from the beginning and tried to force LSU's hand by (1)announcing to the world that he was committing to Miles in person days in advance of his meeting and (2)coming out to the media after being asked to be quiet, thinking that LSU would then allow him to commit to avoid being embarassed.

But then again, WTF do I know.
