Good thing there’s others that have played 2 sports and done ok too…. That kyler Murray seems to have been mildly successful as a 2 sport athlete.

Track and football, depending on the event and position, can work pretty well.

However, if he's going to be a DE, he'll bulk up and he won't be at his fastest. Now, he's got the speed to play as a big WR/TE (assuming he can catch) like an Evan Engram. That would be healthy relationship between sports.

LSU's track program is becoming very appealing to Harbor. But everything will depend on fall OVs. Farrell is also trying to stay relevant.

A track star tight end would be a dream come true. With our WR’s, how the hell are you going to cover everyone

I believe Harbor is enamored with track and TE currently.

Frankly if he wants to get paid, he needs to play defensive end. Far greater chance of a huge pay day at DE, Edge, OLB than TE. Now if he wants to be a hybrid WR that's about a wash.

Michigan boards are hilarious to read. They're in full meltdown this recruiting cycle. We stole their center now about to steal Harbor but outside that, they're really pissed off in general about this cycle. Harbaugh screwed that university over.

Average and top salaries for wr and De are about the same in the NFL but wr has a much longer career on average. This guy could be a faster version of DK Metcalf as WR, run track and do a few Cheetah packages of rushing the passer also.Harbor is by far my favorite recruit this cycle.

There’s a debate if he would play TE/WR or DE, if he truly wants to run track he will have to be on the offensive side of the ball. I think hed lose some speed after gaining the necessary weight to play DE

It is not weird that Cain is still recruiting him. The DE position pays more in the NFL compared to the TE position. So if we are talking about his future in football him playing DE it is not weird for Cain to be still recruiting him. And to be honest with a guy with his attributes. I would want him chasing the QB for 3 downs relentlessly for 4 quarters

Cain is recruiting because that was his projected position before Harbor went public about wanting to play TE. But I’ll say this, I’m in the minority of thinking it doesn’t matter who’s recruiting him. Elite recruiters recruit everyone not just your position. LSU, some not all, get caught in that well the position coach needs to go get that player.

I wonder how many guys in history have been recruited as either WR or DE. Pretty crazy how athletic this guy is.

Spot on. He’s worried about wear & tear + weight that would be required at DE, so TE is a better fit with his track aspirations (and with the times he’s running in HS, kid could be a serious Olympic medal contender…).

Pair him and TreyDez in 2 years……

Nope. That’s just not the way it works. Never has been. Saban sucked his first two years at LSU but was reeling in the top talent. He did the same at Bama. LSU is coming off two shitty seasons and we’re recruiting great. Great recruiters recruit great. That’s it. LSU is a top brand, and players have confidence in the coach’s vision. They understand that it’s a work in progress.
