In Petrino's system you would rather defend Mitchell than Wilson. And Mitchell is no monster.

Wilson is going to be the starter and Mett wouldn't have beat him out. I don't think you are ever going to see a QB be the lone starter from day one in Petrino's offense due to the fact that his playbook is as thick as an Encyclopedia.
We recruited Mett to get in on Carradine and Kennard but it also would have been a very nice bonus to land him and have a little more QB competition.
I have seen Mitchell in practice many times and he is good but Wilson has been the clear cut backup for 3 years and he will definitely be the starter for our first game next year. If he slips during the season Mitchell may overtake him but there is no way Mitchell beats him out by game 1.
Just my opinion of course and if Mitchell proves to be the better QB then I have no problem being wrong.

I do not know how "seriously" Petrino tried to recruit him, but I believe we would definitely be glad to have him. Congrats, I think he'll improve y'alls offensive production.

Look, Wilson looks pretty legit thus far, but if you even think Mitchell is very good you're being completely delusional. I would LOVE for him to start for you guys. Says a lot when we never bothered recruiting the kid right under our noses for QB.
I hate to be the one to break it to you but Jefferson is not even half as good or half as athletic as Mitchell. If Brandon would have played for a team as loaded with talent as Jefferson he would have been a national recruit maybe top 100.
