Would assume this is our last scholarship spot which is interesting.

Why's that? By my count, there's still 1 scholarship left to hand out

I don't know if we need a traditional big man, but I'd love a very consistent rebounder and rim protector that can give us a bunch of minutes. Give me a Jordan Mickey. And maybe we have that on the roster, but I haven't seen it.

Yeah I get that but there needs to be a balance. Looks like CMM just completely overcorrected and went guard heavy instead of trying to build a balanced roster.

Or he's trying to build a roster that can compete on both ends of the floor. LSU WAS balanced last season. They sucked equally on both ends of the floor. Literally. They were ranked 99 in offensive efficiency and 99 in defensive efficiency.

His offensive numbers don't particularly jump off the charts. But he was in the top 5 of the A-10 in: Defensive win share; Defensive +/-; Defensive rating; Steals; Steals percentage.

If you want to be a team that plays an up-tempo game (and McMahon says he does) then creating offense off of defense is a good way to do it.

Wade's best offensive team had a frontcourt of 6'6 Emmitt Williams, 6-7 Darius Days, 6-9 Trendon Watford.

Robert Miller, Jalen Reed, and Damion Collins are all taller/longer than those three. You also have Chest who is listed at 6'8

NO, I'm NOT saying those three are better, or even as good as Williams/Days/Watford. Just pointing out that you don't have to have a "true center" to be successful. You just may have to play a different style than you would with one. Houston was one of the best teams all season in the toughest conference. They didn't have a significant contributor over 6'8.

That team happened to have cam Thomas a generational scorer. The best team we had was 2 good big men 6’10 Naz Reid 6’11 bigby

Thomas was the 20-21 team which was ranked a spot lower in efficiency that year than the 19-20 (which Thomas was not on). Regardless, both teams with Watford as the biggest players were better offensively than the Reid/KBW team.

Defensively? That’s a different story

I'm just not understanding the roster construction from CMM. Jalen Reed and Robert Miller will be the 2 biggest guys on the team...

Rome wasn’t built in a year. In reality this is starting year 2. Let the man do his job. Put another way, what big inside back to the goal 6’11” player was available, and what was the likelihood he was going to wear P&G.

Foundations are required

No, literally in reality this is starting year 3. Now you might want to give him a mulligan for year 1 but even if you do we should not be satisfied unless there's significant progress this coming season.

This guy is athletic, gets to the rim, plays good D against multiple positions, and hits the wide open 3. I like how he's athletic, but also comes from a program that produces smart basketball players. SEC is a step up from the A10, but I think he can handle it. Should be a great addition to the team!

pulling for the kid, but his entire game is based off fast breaks and driving to the rim. 74% of his shots were at the rim. He does finish well at the rim which explains his 60% FG%. However he shot 31% from 3 and low 50;s from FT line. Definitely not a shooter. Hoping he is good enough driving to the basket to be able to do it against bigger faster guards in the SEC. otherwise he will not be much help. He did show some vision and willingness to dump it off to an open guy while driving to the hoop.

We only have 12 to hand out, not 13

There are two ends of the floor. You have to limit the opponent's scoring too. Something LSU has not been good at over the last two years. And something that is MORE important to being a championship team than offense.
