I've always liked and defended this class as it was, but the past few weeks have really solidified a class that did have some obvious holes.

Reliford, Bob, and Washington, to go with CJ Jackson who's now in the boat will really round out this class in both need and quality.

Maybe Green or McBryde or Singleton gets their 5th star, or perhaps flip Bussey or someone else to give it that extra bit of 5 star power, and this class can be considered nothing but a roaring success.

Which is a far cry from what people thought it would be a month ago.

If we keep winning that will help and ATM & Fla keep getting bounced wouldn't hurt us either.

It’s all about NIL
A&M and Florida losing has no effect

A&M losing absolutely has an effect. If they lose 2 or more Jimbo might be out and recruits do care about some stability. We cant simultaneously bitch that we change dline coaches left and right and it hurts recruiting then say only nil matters when/if Jimbo gets canned. Also, he has a large buyout so that would take away from their nil fund also. Their money isn't infinite. Florida losing wont send Napier packing yet but will lose him some confidence in the fan base and in turn likely nil money for his classes. Its still about winning in the end.

Have you seen Florida’s schedule next year? WOOF

Here’s a great breakdown of it: LINK

If Billy survives this year he for sure will be packing next

The worst thing that could happen is Jimbo getting canned. Everyone at 8&4 isn't there because they wanted to play for Jimbo Fisher. They are there because that's where the biggest bag came from.

Getting a new coach in there while NIL is still the Wild West would breathe new life into that program and I think even more recruits may sway that way. Jimbo's massive payout is helping everyone in the conference except that cult. Lets keep it that way.

It absolutely is. Do you think the big donors who contribute to coaching salaries and buyouts don’t also support NIL? If they are paying out a buyout as big as Fisher’s, that could absolutely put a temporary dent in their NIL giving.

Jimbo's buyout is 68 million if they fire him Jan 1st, 78 million if they do it before 2024. You think the boosters are going to pony up extra money to buy him out, buy out his staff, pay a new coach 8-10 million, pay a new staff and still pay top dollar for NIL? It all comes from the same pool of money. I think they have enough money to still pull a decent class but not what they been paying, but I could be wrong on how naive their boosters are and easily parted with their money.

I think Jimbo staying but the boosters no longer backing him is best case. They’ve forked out so much for salaries and NIL all for 7-5. If they stop putting up the NIL funds their recruiting will crash then Jimbo will be there with even less talent and LSU will reap the rewards on the trail.

You're right, that is best case scenario. Worst case for us is they set him up with some tail he cant resist and fire him for cause. (Like some people think Mich St did to Tucker)
