get that we need a QB but signing a QB that will NEVER play a down as a QB doesn't seem to actually fill the bill.
Sometimes you just need depth. Someone who wont transfer and can play in an emergency. Maybe even be a decent fifth year senior 2nd string guy. Believe it or not, guys like that are really important behindthe scenes

He was used as bait to get to Lodge. If he is as smart as everyone says, bulk him up and move him to FS.

He has good touch. He has a unique hitch in his throw but a really quick release. And of course being a lefty he looks a bit quirky. Watch his film and you'll feel better.

That's just dumb, dude. Jennings and Harris are still young and one will improve enough to b a good starter (harris, most likely) jennings will be 2nd string, then McMillan. NEXT year is where you go after five star qbs at all cost

He's a winner. He's smart. He has decent mobility. He has good arm strength. He is willing to redshirt and be a team guy. He provides immediate emergency depth.

This dude has to gain 20 pounds to be a relatively small SEC QB. He's never going to play a down for us. The difference between landing McMillan and landing zero QBs this year is almost non-existent.
I have no doubts he'll push for PT now.
JM is a winner and you can't have enough of these guys on your team IMO.

Um, you guys happily get excited when we recruit a 5 star kid but want to ignore when we recruit a 2 star one for a key position that we REALLY need help at?
He's a 2-star on one site and a 3-star on the other 3. Referring to him as a 2-star four times in one thread that you started strictly to bash the guy makes you seem like a dick.

There was a comment by him posted either here or on the Rant a couple of months ago. Basically, he said he was a looking forward to redshirting and learning how to be a college QB. I know that has to be backed up with talent, but this is a kid coming in seemingly without delusions of grandeur. He knows he will have to work hard and wait to even get a shot. The fact is, we need depth both now and the next two years, in case of injuries, or if someone bails or doesn't pan out.
Maybe some of you are right. Maybe he never sees the field here. Or, maybe he ends up like the QB at UGA this season, and becomes a solid late career starter for a year. Either way, all programs need an occasional 2 or 3 star project guy to provide insurance and fill the gaps.

Heard similar comments from other sources.
Kid is an early enrollee that may surprise. Early commit but a physically small QB that was not highly ranked nor a true dual threat.
Doubt it but I hope McMillan is the next Herb Tyler, beats Jennings out, starts as a freshman and wins the Heisman.

Nice of you guys to wait 3 whole hours before starting to bash these guys

Because individual star ratings and overall team signing rankings are sooooooo accurate.
Rivals: Jacob Hester, two stars. #22 ranked player in the state.

1) No true freshman we could have gotten will fix our QB troubles
2) There exists two in 2016 that may help immediately.
3) If we sign a player that scares off either in 2016 we are making a mistake and still not fixing our problem.
4) Harris and Jennings are better than anyone that could come in this year, so why wouldn't you just get some depth built up.
5) Now if we don't bring in two good prospects next year, we should be really really upset.
But it doesn't look like you want answers, you just want to bitch about McMillan, a QB you know nothing about.

This ... didn't pan out, but he's not horrible by any means. Worst case a career backup, best case a diamond in the rough.

quote:Oh yeah. I'm sure the guys who are rated 5 on one site and 4 on another you don't refer to as 5 stars.
