It’d be awesome if we got him, but our class is not seen as a success / failure based on his decision.
We’ve done a great job at building up our positions of need to the point that 1 player is not going to make or break this class.

I posted on 4th August his commitment was scheduled for 1 Sept day of LCA game, his Pops told me this in call with him, no clues as to who he is leaning or committing to on that day. Could change but that is day I was told

I remember when Sophser was a “must get”. How’d that pan out? Not saying I don’t want the kid but saying anybody is a must get is ridiculous.

To me, he is. We didn’t sign ANY high school DTs in the 2022 class and only have Johnson in this class. I think he’s by far the biggest need in this class, and I’d like to add Reilford as well if he can play DT.

CBK has made it a point to save OV's for in-state kids for during the season. Much easier for them to make the trip up than an out of state kid.
Dom and Mack specifically... they apparently want to save for close to ESD... last team with a say before they put pen to paper.

We have guys on the roster as well. They need to develop and get better, but the bodies are there

All those guys have eligibility remaining after this year. And that’s not including Maason Smith and Mekhi Wingo, assuming they both go pro.
We’re too quick to write guys off sometimes. They can develop. And yes, we still need a few DTs in this class and we’ll get them.

This is the kind of thing that gets thought through when you have an adult in the room.
That said, plan all you want but you have to pivot when things change. This staff seems to be doing pretty well with that so trust them to get it done.
