Giving you first hand info. You’re welcome to dismiss it if you’d like. Current offer is real for sure but it was after all the other coaches had established themselves. We had/have too much ground to make up from the sound of it.

Read this aloud and hear how fricking retarded it sounds

He’s not an egotistical kid at all. Parents have him very very grounded. He’s super polite and humble. He’s very impressive. I honestly think he’s loyal to the coaches that have spent the effort with him.

Again-super kid. I want him here more than anyone bc I know how much of an asset he’s be. I’m not playing devils advocate. I telling you we are way behind the eight ball and would need an eleventh hour miracle to flip him.

Given the info Iota provided today and the fact that Bravion Rogers just decommitted from Texas A&M, he might not have a real offer for much longer.

I’m sorry but if you really wanted to be at lsu and felt the new staff wasn’t giving you enough attention, why not reach out to them?

Matthews has shown no interest in lsu (possibly because of the former staff) so why is this all on us? Kelly wants kids that want to be here and he’s not going to waste time on kids that need constant reassurance. If you haven’t garnered that about CBK yet then you’re just no paying attention

No one gives a frick about your bogus info? What you provided isn’t new and serves no purpose. If he wanted to go to LSU he’d go, not cry about not getting enough attention. He can go to A&M

Agree - trust the staff on this one. They are looking for certain traits in prospective Tigers

Then he doesn't really want to be at LSU. Period. Any statement to the contrary is bs.

I’m not losing sleep if he doesn’t want to be at LSU. We will find other great dbs who want to be here.

Your op said he really wanted to be a tiger, but we didn't show him enough attention early enough and that the coaches were asleep at the wheel.

That's not crying?

He has an LSU offer. He claims he really wanted to play at LSU, but they didn't show him enough attention, so he no longer wants to play at LSU.

Either he really doesn't want to play at LSU or he's letting his hurt feelings and emotions guide his decision. I don't see a third choice.

I don’t think your info is bogus. From what I heard in the early spring when they were doing evals, for some reason they didn’t think that highly of him. They focused on guys they already had relationships with and that were higher on their board; Gray, Hughes, and Austin.

With that being said they really have something going in Texas, especially that Dallas area that is talent rich.

Everything about your post insinuates he was upset he wasn’t shown the attention he thought he deserves, that’s a him problem, not a LSU problem. He was given ample opportunity to commit to the team he supposedly wants to play for. If he chooses to not do so that’s on him, whining about it on a message board doesn’t do anything but make him seem like a weak individual.

I know Billy and Shea said in the past that Matthews is good but not elite at corner.

Sounds like somebody with no chest. Why wouldn’t he feel flattered he received an offer after he passed the test on talent and ability instead of just getting thrown one based on uneducated keyboard wannabes on the recruiting sites?

If he thinks that Texas Tennessee or Michigan will develop him better as a DB than he doesn’t appreciate what LSU actually is. This is all about attention, which I’m fine losing a kid for… half these kids will be trying to transfer back in a year or two.

Sounds like crying to me. Let’s face it, LSU has now gotten the attention of the country and those Louisiana players who “really” want to be here should take that offer and come play in Death Valley for 3-4 years and be the king of campus here.

Who gives a damn if they were a little late. What matters is you got an offer from LSU. Some kids would do anything for that opportunity so the kids that don’t, wasted theirs and just gave it to the ones that actually dream of playing here.

They will give him as much attention as he deserves and that’s it. I personally don’t want kids like this playing for LSU. Maybe he is a good kid but if he wanted to be here then he made a bad decision. Now it’s time for him to man up and show LSU some love. If not then he’s Tiger Bait! If he wants to be here, he had his shot. It might be too late for him to make up ground. Not the other way around lol. I know me or my kid wouldn’t give a damn if we got the last offer, we’d proudly take it, no matter how talented he was or how many schools wanted him. It’s not a game for everyone.
