LSU is a top 5 brand we ain't going anywhere. A mini lull in performance won't hurt bus a bit.

Now the Mississippi st and Vanderbilts of the world could very well be in trouble during the next realignment. If you are DECREASING and not INCREASING each member's slice of the revenue pie, you're in danger of being cut.

This is just common sense if you're paying attention to how things have been going.

Also, you're referring to "big 3 sports" in college. There are only 2 that I'm aware of with BILLION DOLLAR TV contracts. Everything else by definition is a minor sport.

no offense, but if he's the #1 player in the country he should go to a program with more skins on the wall then LSU

Because you don't want to see him follow the same path as Shaq and ruin his future career?

Good thinkin'.

It's amazing how many of our "fans" don't realize the amount of ELITE LEVEL talent that has come through our basketball program over the years. LSU is a big time draw to athletes.

ELITE level talent doesn't mean much when the team has a losing record every year.

You're 100% right. McMahon didn't continue signing elite players, which contributed greatly to his teams getting manhandled, but every coach before him did.

Before McMahon in general, LSU has never had a talent problem, they've had a coaching problem with precious few exceptions: Dale, Wade, and even Brady was a decent coach, just had too many horrible seasons mixed in with the Final 4 and sweet 16 runs.

Go take a look at who Johnny signed. Plenty of studs.
We're still top 15 all time in signing McDonald's AAs.

Now, we'll have a good coach, and great talent. Let's see how that combination works out.
