It's wild that LSU pulling Smith+korey foreman+landon jackson is not at all out of the question. Those three alone would be one of the best DL hauls ever.

It's amazing to me that the foundation of our DL class pretty much every year starts in state. And not just because it's geographically convenient. But because we have high end talent in state on the DL seemingly every single year.

We have a lot to pick from.

Of course I am Saying this before finding out if we will be a 4-3 or a 3-4, but

I have to wonder if some guys are going to transfer or move to Oline.

You could also see TK McLendon go back to tight end if we have 12 DE unless he’s a two deep DE.

Man...if we get Maason Smith, our d-line is going to be very stout for the foreseeable.

I don't think so. Ed O was bragging on Ray Parker and TK Mclendon at one of his press conferences about six weeks ago. He said Ray will be an excellent outside linebacker for LSU next season and he also said TK Mclendon will make an excellent D-lineman for LSU next season as well. He said Mclendon was already over 270 pounds with a sub 4.8 in the forty.

When Coach O said we desperately needed DL this year, it was a statement that prior recruits did not develop. We had plenty of bodies, but not enough studs. But I don't expect the new DL recruits to jump all the way to the top, but they will probably be the key backups. Maybe one of them will start by the end of the year. Logan, Shelvin, and Farrell look solid as starters to me.
Same thing was true at TE in 2019. All of the Fullbacks were moved to TE so the roster was full. But the two freshman TE will probably jump the current players. Gilbert looks to be an absolute stud.
