LSU’s route to a top 5 class.

Figured there would be some folks asking about this as the splash gets closer. For reference, between 285-289 class rating is usually right around the #6 ranked class over the last five years. How can LSU get there?
Gotta land the in state guys in McKinley & Mack.
You really like where you sit with Durham
Simmons interest is legitimate
Ory seems like a lock.
Watkins seems a lock too.
If you land that crew, you’re right around that 286-288 range. Keep in mind though, 24/7 still has Callaway and Evans as 3 stars and they’re very likely to climb. McBryde has a legit chance to get his 5th star with a great senior campaign. Joel Rogers also has a chance to climb. If they do, you’ll bump into the mid 290’s and will be somewhere around that 4-5 mark before you add any transfers.
2nd straight top 5 class for Kelly and Co is very much attainable.
And that’s if they don’t rip off any surprise guys

This class is extremely solid. Kinda reminds me of the 2017 class in a way that was ranked #7, but it was composed of Queen, Jefferson, Phillips, Clyde, Cushingberry, etc
There are so many players that are criminally underrated. Johnson, Rogers, Lee, Foster come to mind.

That round up would put us at 284 - currently 2nd.
Obviously other schools will be grabbing more guys so we wouldn't stay there, but even if we didn't sign another guy beyond that I don't think we'd fall out of the top 10.

You can make an argument that LSU has a legitimate shot to end the class with 4 five star players and maybe more. Simmons and Mckinley already are. Mack is in that range and McBryde has a legit chance to climb into it as well.

I’m just saying.
I don’t need a top five class. It’d be real nice and all. But 8 of the top ten and guys like ondre, Ethan and Cai, is something that Kelly can work with.

Same but it seems like a lock there.
I'll say this though, another aggie season like last year and I wonder if some kids start to decommit.
I know they're already only going there for the bag but if you put out another season of incompentency, fighting within the coaching staff (thank you petrino), and just an all around shite-show, what kid wants to walk into that?

Louisiana players in general are always underrated due to lack of major media presence compared to Texas/GA/FL

Lots of hoping and wishing in that post. Not likely all gonna shake out like that. Kelly better not drop the ball coming off the year he had in year 1. He needs consistent top 4-5 classes to keep up with Bama/OSU/Clemson/Georgia

If they land who they/we expect them to, Simmons a bonus not expectation imo, then they'll land between 5-10. That would be a great finality to a class that could, if we miss, be outside the top 15. The line is thin right now. The alternative prospects, in case we miss, are the key. Particularly at DT and edge. Every other spot is manageable at worst. Those 2 bugaboos are what will determine the strength and overall view of the class. Miss McKinley and Simmons, again a bonus imo, and the class has a different feel regardless of the strength at other positions.
