The national media is going to absolutely Rip LSU for this schedule.
I wouldn't waste too much energy on the critics. How did playing a much tougher OOC schedule help SC, UConn, Louisville & Stanford play for a title last year? It didn't.
LSU beats Iowa in the title game, and no one cares if LSU got ripped for beating Bellarmine 125-50. Instead, the fickle media is now calling LSU "The Darlings of WBB" and "The Dream Team".
The only true drawback is the fan experience of enduring a certain blowout, but even that can be allayed if HVL goes 30pts/11ast or Morrow gets 27pts/22rebs or Mikaylah hits 8 three's, etc.

Addison Deal (with La. ties) made a nice jump up in the rankings on PN compared to where she is at on ESPN.
LSU is known to be in on all of their top 5, except Betts, currently.

This class will be interesting for sure. If LSU signs Cambridge she’s supremely talented I would think she starts by year 2. Velez is better than ppl realize I think she will be the starting PG if Hailey Declares. I wonder if Chavez will think LSU is too crowded? I mean you go after her no matter what she’s that good. She’s Cocky as hell and I love it. LSU could potentially have an insane roster the next few years.

Velez is the real deal. Not entirely sure how many minutes overall she will get year one but she is easily the most natural PG on the roster and really good defender. But it seems like she is making major impressions so far so she may play more than some think
If LSU landed Cambridge, Chavez would be more of a luxury than a true need. You'd have Velez, Cambridge, Kent, Mikaylah, Flaujae (+ someone from the portal who Kim will likely add). Some rumblings she has been a Texas lean but never know what happens to a recruit until they take other visits.
Really want Addison Deal, Iowa will be LSU's biggest challenger for her. Its pretty apparent those are her top two schools.

I wonder how much of a factor NIL will be for Chavez. I’m sure the Texas collective will back up the brinks truck to keep her home. But there’s also a chance Redus could work magic in the portal again so then you wonder would we need to sign a big class for 25.

Yeah I don't think she is really motivated by basketball anymore.
Honestly it was a blessing because Sa'Myah got a lot more minutes year one, and her impact was much greater than what Gusters gave us the year before. I'd expect Sa'Myah to thrive much more after getting so much experience year one.

WTF what is she now like 330?

Lol But claimed Mulkey gave her PTSD and the environment at LSU is toxic. Maybe she held your a** accountable for getting in shape and you took it personal. I would love to hear why she views her as the Devil though.

Maybe we'll get to play her fat arse and run about 20 pounds off her in one game.

Looks like ole H.Gusters still hasn’t gotten in shape. She called Mulkey the Devil btw.
She is sad and bitter, eating her feelings. You know she was pissed when the Tigers won the natty.

Stop eating you fat bastard!
You eat to live it's not a hobby!

I didn't get to see Gusters play last year (as I wasn't a WBB fan back then) but I remember during the transfer portal thread, after getting HVL & Morrow, multiple posters were openly wanting one more vet post-player with length and/or girth.
When I looked over the remaining portal names, there was a low-scoring 6-5 wide body named Gusters, who might perfectly fit a backup Big role for the defending champs. Then I looked over, and saw the school she left. We had her.
I thought we might miss letting her go, but apparently now, no one can miss her, as she's let herself go.

Mikaylah & Sarah Strong are playing in FIBA 3x3 today, if anybody is interested:
There have been rain delays, fwiw

LSU sent Daphne Mitchell out to watch strong In person and support Mikaylah. Strong is at LSU next weekend

Sarah strong is now the #1 player in the country in the last recruiting ranking update

Thanks. The OP has been updated. O'Neal moved up from #35 to #32. IIRC, she was #42 when this thread was started.
Every LSU target in the 2025 class moved up a few spots as well.

Ok, let’s try this again without the rain deluge that postponed the first day of games:
Mikaylah & Sarah (USA vs Brazil & later, USA vs Germany)
Edit: I don't know why the video is unavailable now. I wacthed the USA win both games. And the channel even had chapter/time stamps to go directly to the start of both games.
