Honestly, seeing both of them play DEFENSE, I'd take Riley as a LB over Beckwith a 100 times out of 100. Now KB is a DE and an amazing athlete but he will need a lot of work to become a contributor at the next level due to his inability to get off blocks. Notre Dame, while being outweighed by 50-60 pounds all night, kept KB blocked all game long.
Riley is a pure LB but doesn't have the same tool box
Point being, I don't think one should take a spot from the other because I don't think they'll play the same position at the next level.

I dunno man, East Feliciana had one player and one player only and his name with Kendell Beckwith and he still carried them to the semis I think. Curtis is full of athletes and you can't just target one like ND could target KB.
They're both good players and I hope both play for LSU.

I'll be selfish, why can't we have both? I'd love to see these two kids here.

Riley's offer is for a grey shirt, unless something unforeseen happens...Carter's is for this year. We'll get both, I'm sure, but Riley will be in the 2014 class, while Carter will be in this 2013 class.

Dude beckwith is on another level of Riley.
I mean it took the whole season to get an offer, and they are still telling he's not quite good enough to count against this class.

So I'm guessing that Skinner will be a hog.

BlueDog-Carter will be copeland's replacement at fullback. great blocker, excellent hands, powerful runner.

Can anyone who is familiar with JC or has seen them play compare Duke Riley to Kenny Young? Who's better and why?

I think he's content with his decision

Riley plays pretty mean in those highlights. If he gets to LSU and competes with our starters, he'll shine.

There's a lot to like about this guy. He has good closing speed, instincts, and can cover.

Posted on 12/14/12 at 1:32 pm to TeamLSU

lester-with the TE's that lsu is signing where will carter fit in because the tigers are loaded at that position now and for the forseeable future.
