Not sure folks realize Cutcliffe would be 69 years old once Arch even gets to school. I dont know what his plans are but I doubt he sticks it out through 72 years old coaching to have Arch come to Duke.

Interesting that he got offered (or at least went public) before Arch Manning.

That should indicate where he stands in the 2023 class. Both are considered top tier

The mannings are claiming they aren't allowing him to be recruited yet. This doesn't say anything.

Not a fair comparison. Zadock looked the real deal and severe injuries hampered him massively.

Arch Manning has an LSU offer, the Mannings just arent letting any active recruiting early on here so they arent letting folks know who Arch already has offers from, but I imagine it's a ton of schools already.

How much do you wanna bet that Arch Manning doesn’t go to Duke? Cooper could be the coach and he isn’t going to duke.

If Cutcliffe is still there they are the favorites. The Mannings are not loyal to a school. They are loyal to David Cutcliffe.

Just get Walker Howard and call it a day. Kid is off the charts good!

Take last summer, when Arch and his high school team won a seven-on-seven tournament on LSU’s campus. Tigers coach Ed Orgeron and his offensive staff spent much of the event schmoozing the Manning family. “It was unlike anything I’ve witnessed at a seven-on-seven tournament,” says Shea Dixon, a 247Sports recruiting reporter covering LSU and Louisiana. “I haven’t seen LSU coaches put that attention on a senior, let alone a kid who just finished eighth grade.”

The Tigers planned to offer Arch a scholarship, Dixon says, before they learned the likely reply: There is no offer to give because there is no offer to receive.

Touché. That was a bad example on my part

Hopefully they both pan out as expected

The great thing about having national QB recruits (or any other position, for that matter) on local teams is that it gives other kids exposure that they ordinarily wouldn't get. This is where diamonds in the rough are found.

I think it’s so early you push just as hard for both & see where you stand in 3yrs.

Why is that not fair?

What you stated just further solidified the point. Holstein or Arch (or any other projected 5* super QB prospect) are not immortal and could also succumb to injuries, get his head messed up with other ideas/issues, just fail to progress as expected, or many other reasons.

From Rivals LINK

"Holstein is the son of former LSU punter and the younger brother to newly signed Louisiana Tech quarterback Caleb Holstein. The rising sophomore sat behind Memphis signee Keilon Brown last season after transferring to Baton Rouge-area powerhouse Zachary and is set to take the reins this fall.

Holstein is already an impressive 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds with a 4.6 40 and 37-inch vertical. He has a big arm with great downfield accuracy and is set to take over one of the most high-powered offenses in Louisiana. Holstein already has the attention of LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State and Baylor and should see his recruitment take off once he produces varsity tape."

Pretty ridiculous numbers for a high school kid in between their freshman and sophomore years. Those would be good WR numbers but this guy is at QB.

20 years will have passed since Eli left Ole Miss by the time Arch gets to college. For starters a lot can change in twenty years. Secondly, Cutcliffe is a Duke now, not Ole Miss or Tennesee. And finally, LSU is in a much better spot than they were when Eli and Peyton were getting recruited.

You do realize they’re in different classes? I’d love to see LSU start stacking QB talent year after year.

2020 - Max Johnson, TJ Finley
2021 - Nuss
2022 - Walker Howard
2023 - Arch Manning

Having a loaded QB rooms makes everyone better. Obviously you’d loose some guys to the transfer portal but the best player would rise to the top. Plus, you always hear coaches say “you’re a sprained ankle away from being the starter. I’d rather have a stud backup than Andrew Hatch starting for LSU.

There have been a bunch of CBs rolling in over the last week. Yesterday, Steve Robertson (MSU insider) CB'd Howard to LSU with a 10/10 confidence rating.

That would be huge, says something about a kid who hasnt started a high school game yet earned offers from Texas A&M, Alabama and LSU at their camps before even his sophomore year.
