I don't understand the anger with which some posters are denying these 3 stars will get bumps. They have another season yet to play. If half of those kids get another star, and we end up with 1 or 2 fives, will people still bitch?

If you know football then those "STARS" don't matter

You are making assumptions based off an uncertain future. They are stating the current reality.

It's just two very different schools of thought.

You know you can change up/down votes on here. Just refresh the page and hit your vote again. They put them too close together.

They are free to melt over something that is unnecessary to melt over.

I understand some people's concern. I do not share it, but understand it. I'm thinking much of it stems from it is different than in the past and human nature is to assume change results in something negative not positive. It's well known in the marketing world that people fear to "lose something" more than "not gaining something"; hence a risk adverse mentality.

Melting however is a different story. That I don't get. It's based on a snapshot in time without factoring in future changes such as ranking bumps (mentioned many times over here) but also new/different long term strategies, what is available talent wise compared to the past (mentioned here several times; LA is "down" this year), how verbals will be handled now as compared to the past (will there be "processing"?), and last but not least has the early signing period changed the approach (maybe Staff is going to use early 3* verbals to leverage the 4*/5* not to hold out).

So to dismiss all those variables AND use only a snapshot AND a snapshot in June AND to only compare to "what it usually is" is, to me, obviously a melt and melt only and not a valid position. It's bitching for the sake of bitching.
