Still pushing him to visit next month, and even though he named that list of 4 the other day with all the West Coast teams, he's still maintained contact with our staff, and likely he'll visit us still.

I'm confused.... Is this not the recruiting section? I don't know what anything is any more.

It’s great not throwing in the towel. Hopefully they are working on plan B though

Is he at Elite 11? If so, he wasn't mentioned at all...

Never hurts to be the ”close to home” option in case Grant (or mama) starts to have second thoughts about being way out west.

This post didn't start on the recruiting board. Hence my first post.

With the amount of time LSU has put in, to not make his top 4 is a tough pill to swallow.

I’m not as excited about Finley as some on this board. To me he looks like a big kid who plays qb. Not much else.

Getting a big time QB in the 2019 class is a must.

If Burrow comes in and lights it up and LSU starts winning consistently Gunnell AND OTHERS will be knocking on the door. Unfortunately, LSU has not had that problem in some time. Hence, very little elite QB interest in the program.

He is a kid. He’s a sophomore. He has TWO crucial years of physical development left before he’s even in college and he’s 6’6” 230. Do you know how much his body composition can change with two years of natural development much less with a strength and conditioning program. He will be a monster. Are you serious?

Gotta have someone on staff that the elite kids and their families trust to develop them. Not necessarily talking about the head coach. Also not trying to slight anyone on staff. Production can make up for a lack of quality lineage so as previously stated, a big year on the field will lead to a big pull next year. Groundbreaking opinion, I know.

Fully agree. Everything hinges on Burrow. If he's the player they think he is, our offense becomes more explosive through the air. Our passing attack improves, our offense becomes more attractive to qb recruits. Our passing attack improves, our team does better than 8-4. Our team does better than 8-4, we attract more top recruits as a whole. We attract more top recruits as a whole, our program improves and O keeps a job.

Everything I've read on this guy makes it sound like he's destined for failure in college. He sounds way too entitled for accomplishing nothing yet. Like he wants the keys to the world handed to him without earning it. I honestly don't think he'd be much loss for LSU if he goes elsewhere. Immense talent but he doesn't have the attitude to succeed at the next level. Just my personal opinion.

I'd say it sounds typical. AND, not over the top either. I'd also say the recruiting process (or what we see from it) is not where determining attitude should take place. Now in a film/meeting room on a visit, different story. But not from second hand reports.

Yes I’m serious. Plenty of 2020 kids with more polish than him. I think he’s a take and may develop but a strategy of missing on a qb in 2019 because you have Finley for 2020 isn’t smart. Kid is a major project.

Every HS Soph. is a project.

Kid has great potential. Needs to improve his accuracy.

Glad he’s committed.

You take what you can get. You don't wait, piss Finley off, then lose out on Gunnell too. You then end up losing both. That's how you get into the QB problems LSU has. Finley could develop into something special. Right now, he has a lot of development and LSU will know where he's at watching him 2 years from now. Could see an amazing ceiling or a guy who hasn't progressed much then you might want to look elsewhere for that class.
