As far as DTs go what is the reason on us ignoring Ivan Robinson? Grades or something?

I think the concern is more about who's spot he will be taking from next years projected smaller class.

The best answer I've heard people say is the "I trust the coaches" line.

No I understand but who out there is better at DT, which is a huge need posistion.

ETA: still available DTs I mean and ones we could actually land

This year Jones. Next year 4-5 from LA alone. Blackmon is a "project" so he wouldn't help next year anyway and offers nothing honestly. He'll never start over Freak, Thomas, or Hunter and since he would redshirt, he'd essentially be in the same class.

THIS is the exact reason you do not accept commitments from Houston Bates or Cameron Fordham so early in the process.

I don't buy Fordham as a center prospect. And Bates....he just isn't LSU talent.

But we are still talking about a DT who is committed but is loyal to a posistion coach(freak)and two uncommitted DTs. You gotta recruit for depth sometimes and i believe this may the case. Would I rather Byron Jones? Maybe mostly because he is a La boy but is he definitely better? Idk, there have been some nice reviews on Blackmon since he was scouted a few time this year

which is why you ask him to gray shirt and hopefully piss him off enough to decommitt.

??? Who?

I was told by a friend that is close to Junction City's program that Jones entertained transferring to either Ruston or West Monroe so he would get an offer from LSU. He was the MVP of the title game both his junior and senior year, but since he didn't come to camp he didn't get an offer. Shorts/tee>>>>>>>>>actual football

Or you never put yourself in the situation. We shouldn't have done more than send him a few letters in the mail, much less send a committable offer!

We could literally have waited until February and signed Bates at the last hour.

Well this is the Les Miles-less way of course.

Seems a tad early to me to pull out the crystal ball and start pissing on LSU commits. Besides, I doubt Parker is doing anything right now other than hyping the suspense for his hat outta the bag show. The dude apparently hasn't even scheduled an official visit to LSU. I'll worry about fitting Parker went he actually visits LSU. Then maybe we can piss on the dudes that already want to be LSU Tigers.

Sentimore was good enough for other schools to come calling. Bates and Blackmon not so much.

Yeah that's what is curious to me. If you whiff on a Bates caliber player you haven't missed much. It seems like you would want to give yourself the chance to sign some of the bigger fish. If you miss you miss, but you can still finish with Bates if you HAD to. LSU doesn't seem to HAVE to yet.
