One word == Hatch
I thought Hatch would have done a good job for us if he wouldn't have got hurt. He could manage the game well and was a mobile quarterback and he understood the play book. Very smart kid. Was a lot like Mauck and Flynn. He did lack a little bit in arm strength though.

i worked a few dunham games this year.. good football player, good kid.. played both ways and never seemed to get tired.. not lsu material though, more like tulane or vandy or USM.. what's he gonna play at NW? was definitely one of better players I saw in person this year

I would have to disagree with you on the "not lsu material" but anyways he probably will play LB if he gets up to 220 or 225 in weight. If he stays at 210 to 215 he probably will play safety. If he gets to 230 and keeps his high 4.4 or 4.5 speed he will be an absolute beast at linebacker.

how's he compare to the S we got from central last year? looks like they have similar measurables.. I wish the kid well at NW

Is a lot like the Josh Johns(the kid from central). i think Ellis might be a little faster but very similar. I do expect Johns to fight for some playing time this coming up season. He is a very good football player.

Was hatch a senior when he got hurt? If not why did he leave?
(mobile quarterback and he understood the play book)
This shite cracks me up!!

I think NW is a good fit for the little pipefitter. He will see playing time early which never would have been a gurantee for him at LSU.

He went to "the Dunham school". He is going to major in engineering.
LSU did not miss out on him.
The only competition Northwestern has is Stanford.
Both private and in a high profile BCS conference.
I worked at Northwestern, did the computer system for admissions.
LSU is #50 of 100 in public universities in academics. (tied with Minnesota and Penn State)
Northwestern is top 10 in many of its departments.
see also CAL, Stanford, Harvard.
As much better than NW that LSU is, in football,
NW is that much better than LSU, in academic reputation.

Hatch was not a senior. He left to go back to Harvard, to get a Harvard degree.

Could someone tell me the rules about TOPS scholarships, and whether or not they count against athletic scholarship limitations for football?
If you are on scholarship and play in a game you count against the 85 scholarship limit regardless of what type of scholarship it is.

Thats my point if hatch was not a senior and a good q.b. and understood the play book he would have stayed!!

I don't think he fully recovered from his injury and he wanted the Harvard degree. My point was, if not for injury I think he would have done better than JL.

Look the kid is very smart and i know that academics is very important but this kid is a football player first. He will seek a career in football. he is not going to northwestern for academics. It is an added plus for sure though.
