LSU is making a mistake by not taking Watkins

He’s talented enough to commit to 4 schools and is a picture perfect fit for the slot and Being the next Russell Gage. LSU already has a super star WR in the class in Marshall and They don’t throw the ball enough to warrart need for Chase another 5 Star WR coming from the same mold. He will transfer like T. Johnson, Diarse
and Quinn, due to lack of volume. Watkins is more versatile and can even play DB if needed.
Plus All of their best 4 targets Goodrich, Surtain, Joseph and Chase all wil be waiting until Feb 7th. With 4 slots left it should be first come first serve, you are LSU and you have WRs lining up to get in even with your passing struggles. If one of these 4 falls through then your are screwed and let Watkins slip away. This might be an unpopular opinion but I can tell you if they pass on Watkins, Chase is not a sure thing and you have then left so many talented WRs on the table such as Jason, Chase, Keys. Take Watkins and call it a day at WR and the. Focus on your DBs. Happy New Years all!!

If he commits before Goodrich, I say take him. But the rest of what you said is an exaggeration. Chase is way better. Watkins is a slot guy and we got Giles and Dillon there. We should have paused on Provens and gotten Watkins, but who knows with this kid. When you’ve been committed to 4 different schools it kinda says something about your commitment level.

Chase better. LA boy. Protect the boot! Brennan is the future. Chase and Marshall this is too good to be true!! Wow

Like to take both, but if only could take one it's Chase hands down.

Surtain, Joseph, and Chase have guaranteed spots if they want them.

Agreed. Nothing against Watkins but keeping in state talent home is a plus along with his play making skills.

I bet Jamarr loves getting on TD to see if there's any threads about him and he sees one saying that we should take Watkins over him and that if he does come here he will end up transferring. Bold move.

LSU already has athletes at the wideout spot . Derrick Dillon is the next Gage also Justin Jefferson and Drake can get sweeps. We need another polished wideout . Chase has Velcro hands and elite route running skills. That’s something that can not be taught . Not a knock on Watkins but if we had to choose I’d want Chase .
Man I can just imagine Brennan having the choice of hitting Giles , Marshall, Chase, Davis, Sullivan , Dillon,
Jeezus all that size and athleticism. Not even including us still having Moreau, Washington and Pettigrew at tight end .

Didn’t even read because I know it’s bullshite by your title. Chase is the take and it’s not even close. If you can’t understand that then well I feel sorry for you.

Let the ranters decide
Watkins was just making people look stupid
Qualifier: level of competition relative to Chase/Rummel?
Watkins acceleration and shifityness is impressive
Qualifier: Again, whats the speed of the competition on the field? And can't really use the eye test on that. Some players are just so fluid and long they are burning it up while not looking like it (as it appears to be with Chase)
Both are playmakers
Qualifier: yeah, it's highlight videos. Supposed to look that way.
Qualifier #2: how do they look on an average play? Not crisp? Can't/won't block? Give up on routes? This stuff is important. The little things turns a physical specimen pass catcher into a big time wide receiver (as evidenced by our WRs not doing the little things the first half of the year).
My brain says Chase. So do the people who are much more well versed in judging such things however.
The stratagist in me, considering both have been flaky with their recruiting being committed to multiple schools, says tell those two it's first come first serve. 1 WR spot, 2 WRs and be up front about it.
But if confident Chase is a lean, then make him priority.

That’s like saying , Hey we got Jarvis Landry so forget Odell Beckham .
Posted on 12/31/17 at 7:25 pm to SHBlake79
we can't take them all. This Louisiana hotbed a blessing and a curse.

Idk, but Chase has athletic measurables that very well may make him more talented than Marshall.

Why do you assume he still wants to come here?
