When LSU misses out on an elite player, I always hear LSU was outbid. With that in mind, how does this help?

I don't really understand it either. Relationships don't matter anymore it's who has the biggest bag. I'd rather have the biggest scouting department in the country for NCAA football than the shadow staff behind the scenes for recruiting. All you need there is the department to establish who ties and recruiting matters not anymore. Delegate with an agent for a bag. How are these guys so important?
Now if we're talking scouting that's an entirely different beast that can never have enough resources dumped into it.

Looking back the last three or four years what elite recruit that we missed out on can we say we would’ve had a better chance of getting with this guy? All I hear when we miss out on a recruit is that we were outbid.
