I am not generally concerned with our bar line up - I think the current line up is probably fine, and we will take out Zeiss if HB can get back in. There isn’t really a need for Tori, Dunne, or Alyona outside of depth. And I think probably Dunne is first on the list because I agree Tori’s routine seems very labored and I just can’t with the Schennikova’s crazy dismount, which I am sure has not improved given her time off with injury.

I find this thread interesting on Tiger Rant as to the confusion some fans have on the NQS Standings. Jay spoke about how fans do not understand the NQS process when it kicks in on the 7th week. I am hoping for a strong road score this weekend although I must confess that competing in Kentucky can be a trap meet.

I honestly think the coaches are more likely to take Jeff out over Lexi on bars once Haleigh is healthy. Zeiss has been landing her dismount more consistently AND Jeff has had issues with doing and landing it in the past because of how high she gets, back pain, vertigo, and other reasons they haven’t gone into detail about from the beginning of the season. Yes Zeiss has yet to get a 9.9+ score (which I attribute to the fact that scores are tighter this year because she should have at least one or two by now) but her bars set gets better every week and she has yet to have a miss

I think it would be foolish to take Jeffrey out in favor of Zeiss - I think her scoring potential is higher even with her dismount (which I haven’t found to be terribly inconsistent in meets this year, though I know she said she struggled with it in preseason). However, in that case, they probably move her back to lead off which may erase some of the scoring advantage over Zeiss. So it will be interesting to see.
There is also a considerations of whether HB with less reps can routinely our score Jeffrey with more - I think the assumption will be it is better to have HB in than not in and I don’t necessarily disagree, but it is interesting to think about.
Also - the real thing here is they have to dial in on landings from top to bottom (honestly Zeiss and Jeff, and chio after her early season issues) are actually doing best on that front

My main concern on bars tbh is Aleah's dismount. It seemed like the change to the FTDB was the solution (and it looked like it in training videos), but that has not translated to competition yet. I don't think she has stuck one so far.

I would say there is still about a 75% more likelihood of her sticking that than her Arabian-esque dismount from
Last year…even if it hasn’t yet translated. If I recall she stuck once last year. This one makes me far less nervous than that one, even if she hasn’t stuck it yet either.

Zeiss has done well and hit every time the team has needed her, but for the good of the team I would bump her out when Bryant is back.
And I hope she would understand and be cool with that. If she is, that is a selfless leadership quality we have on the team for the next 3 years. Her time is coming the next 3 years.

Aleah is out of the bars line up tonight per virtius. Haleigh back.

I stand by what I said about Jeffrey

These scores..............

The main thing is to try to get to
At least like 197.3…but I feel they are going to be tight on beam

what are they taking on Chio's beam? I'm tired of this
Posted on 2/21/25 at 7:27 pm to Bayougallc
These scores aren’t helping us (9.825 for McClain on beam for example is a MAJOR WTF), however Jeffrey underrated her dismount and landed cockeyed as always
Posted on 2/21/25 at 7:43 pm to lsugymfann
Konnor does not seem to be as confident as she was last year on beam. That is concerning with post season not far away. She is rushing her routine and both she and Aleah get deductions on the beam dismount.
I think LSU got the shaft on floor.

I saw on fb that KJ was on crutches after vault.
Posted on 2/21/25 at 7:53 pm to TigerFan112
My guess is that when she hopped in place when she landed, she rolled her ankle BECAUSE the mat slipped back from underneath her
Posted on 2/21/25 at 7:58 pm to lsugymfann
that would be a bummer.
what are red shirt rules? would it be too late for KJ?
Outside of that, vault was a letdown tonight, but bars was solid and I thought the floor scores were way under scored. Same with some of the beams what am I missing with Konors beam I thought it looked pretty dang good. Productive meet.

Question about away meets. I know that the home crowd helps in regards to score. But the home team is used to their equipment. Does the apartus ever get tested for being in a certain tolerance? I.E. the spring board and floor. Tonight our girls were having trouble with too much bounce on the vault. Would it be safe to say their spring board had more launch than the ones they are use to.

I saw bounce on floor too. I think they get to practice on away equipment but I don’t know how much.

Redshirt rules state that if you compete in more than 30% of the season, you are not eligible to redshirt so she technically can still redshirt since she missed weeks 2-4, especially if she misses the next couple meets.
Despite her achilles injury, Chase also technically has a redshirt year she can use since she didn’t compete in 2022 (same goes for Jeffrey)
