There is a 5 Star, Alicia Zhou, that has not committed to a college. She has visited Georgia and Auburn. She is from San Antonio and trains with Love's Gym. She was a strong Junior as well. I would like to see her visit LSU but there may not be any interest on her part or the coaching staff.
I have not seen anything on who could have visited the campus this weekend.

One person I had in mind is an up and coming L10 gymnast Audree Valdenarro. She was at LSUs camp this summer and allegedly stood out. She was coming back off an ACL this year

This is a great pickup. Her first L10 meet back this year she scored over a 38.500 in the AA including a giant bars score and has a 1.5 vault in the works for next season
If she can stay healthy upside is tremendous on many events

I’m just really surprised at a game this big, there are no recruits there. They didn’t want to even invite some last minute girls?
There were recruits in town, I just couldn't not tell who they were. They passed our tailgate in the golf carts, but by the time I realized it , I was too slow to see.
It was also Alumni weekend so that was probably more of the focus this past week

She looks like she could be great an addition of healthy and continuing to work!

Saw where Simone Brown committed to Clemson. That’s nice. Now if Jayla commits to Stanford (we’re not an option) I’ll feel better. I like to see the talent spread out more if theyre not all coming to us. Lol

The only 5 star left outside of Jayla is Alicia Zhou. She is a Texas girl. Did we ever hear who else visited the campus this past weekend besides Audree? The visits were never listed on the Recruit tracker.

No she may have been the only one. This recruiting season has been a little weird for us imo.

Yes, this recruiting season has a different feel. Even social media posters expected LSU to have numerous commitments being the Nat'l Champions this year.

Well I kinda hope we keep our rosters on the smalller side. I didn’t think 20 scholarships for this sport was a good idea. I’ll be interested to see how Oklahoma and Florida handle rosters in a few years and how some of these girls feel about their choice. I would rather make more teams competitive than stack rosters so someone like Izzy stassi (sp) only goes one routine when at another school she could be an all rounder. I’d like to see more big schools like Iowa and the like get more competitive. It’s tiring seeing the same teams in Texas every year, not us of course. I think when Michigan won the championship it was better for the sport than Oklahoma, fla, ucla, Utah winning. I’ve personally said I want to see Kentucky win because if couldn’t route for lsu I would definitely be a Kentucky fan(still am). I just really like Tim garrison. Anywho my Ted talk is over with for the night. Thanks for listening! lol

I think the mindset of some recruits has been in the old era where Fl, Utah, Ala, and OK were the programs a gymnast would seek. That is changing with the parity that is evolving with quality recruits choosing other programs which is good. LSU is the newest Nat'l Champion and will continue to excel with smart training and recruiting. Bringing in great recruits will be competitive going forward in gymnastics.
One of my UCLA friends posted this today.
"Janelle is carving out a great class here. Nervous for Jayla’s announcement tomorrow". Looks like a commitment is coming for Fl, Standford, or UCLA......

I saw on her insta where she will announce tomorrow between the 3. Hoping for Stanford but if not ucla.

I definitely think LSU was expecting more than 1 commitment from the big weekend with Hezly, Caylor, Molomo, and Lowe. They hosted Presley but couldn't close the deal either.
LSU had a few gymnasts who they were recruiting pretty good who never made it to campus for a visit that, Izzy Stassi is one of them, who LSU recruited heavily for a while, backed off within the last few months due to her injuries (which is prob why she just committed to OU early). By the time they picked up recruiting her again it was too late
I bet if LSU could go back and do it again they would have pushed harder for Audrey Synder who was very pro LSU but LSU seems to aim more for a smaller group of big fish but unfortunately only walked away mostly with Hezly, although Annalisa is good be really really good if she continues to polish the next two years.
I'm not sure with Malea role is for the future but I do think adding Valdenarro was a good one. If she can stay healthy, thats a high quality bar worker who is in the process of adding a nice 1.5 vault
LSU had a 'down' class in 2022 signing just Beard, Bryce and Cowan, and followed up with 3 big time classes after (23, 24, 25).

I don't think there are any other recruits that are a possibility in this class except Alicia Zhou 5 Star. She still has not made a commitment and has not visited any other colleges since September. I would like to see her visit but that will be two weeks away if recruits are brought in when there is a ballgame on campus. Surely they have followed her during the recruiting process. She would be a nice addition to the 2026 class. She has been to Georgia and Auburn.

Called that one after Simone committed there. Those 2 can’t seem to exist without the other one

Yep......they landed a great 2026 class. Garrett needs to keep an eye on the portal.

If Hezly is truly deferring until 2029 season (after 2028 olympics) they will need to add a little more from 2027 and obviously after this coming season be more assertive from the transfer portal the next couple years
Luckily the 2023/2024/2025 classes are very strong so they would hypothetically still be more than fine for 2027 season but beyond that is where you would see more of the 2026 class impact would be 2028 season
But like I said LSU seems to have a weaker class every once in a while (see 2022 (Cowan, Beard, Bryce), 2018-19 (only signed Ferrer) and then go on to pick up their recruiting again
I also think a couple of floridas elites will defer like hezly will

I think we'll be fine as well, hopefully get some good pickups from transfer portal along the way too. We have used the portal very effectively in the last few years.
Gotta say that the weaker classes in 2022/2018 were not really entirely by design though if I recall. Lilly Lippeatt was supposed to be on scholly in 2022 but didn't get through medical IIRC, and 2018 was supposed to have Desiderio as well but she ended up coming a year early.

I just hope hezley doesn’t go the way of shilese and never makes it to campus. Has she for sure said she is deferring?
