Bubba, how are we looking with all of our other targets Trent left us?

First game (which was in the group and a 28 (4x7) min game) Shane led all scores with 17 pts. He also had 6 boards and 3 assists playing the 2/1 mostly.
In the final (40 min game) Shane led all scores again and wound up with 15 (2 dunks) in a low scoring affair. Also had a bunch of rebounds and several assists.
.. I don't have all the stats, sorry.

What is your connection to Shane and/or CBA?
Posted on 4/11/12 at 12:22 pm to Bubba Hotep
I am Dutch as are the Hammink boys (half Dutch half American). I am a lower level (D3) basketball coach and everyone in basketball here knows the Hamminks. Also: My son is friends with Shane's brothers Ryan and Nick.I dont really have a connection to CBA other than that I went to NJIB tournament in Kaunas Lithuania a couple of months ago as a fan, saw CBA there (Shane highlights from that event: LINK then again this past weekend. So really dont know CBA that well (never been to Gran Canaria) but have seen them play two major tournaments. Plus I hear from Ryan and Nick how things are done there..Btw, keep an eye on those two Hammink twins as well. Up and coming!.

Do you know anything about Shane's recruitment? We haven't been able to get any info on him. Also, how do the brothers compare to Shane?

I dont have much insight into the recruiting situation surrounding Shane, except that I know its hectic. Many schools are pulling at him.--The three Hammink boys are all very different players: Nick is a true point who can also play the 2. Great court vision and understanding of the game. Ryan is a lock down defender with great range on his 3pt shot..

Cool. How did you find this board?
Posted on 4/11/12 at 2:23 pm to Bubba Hotep

Good info ChrisStomp. Scorer playing mostly the 2/1. Sounds like a great fit with Hickey and Stringer. Hows the range on his 3? Really hope to see Shane sign with the Tigers.

Rivals150 point guard Josh Gray from Houston (Texas) Wheatley high school has gotten a release from Mississippi State. Look for his recruitment to blow up in the next week as high major programs across the country are scrambling for point guards.
From Rivals.
Hopefully the new coach gets in on him. Originally from Lake Charles and a stud.

I read on twitter that Gray can't sign with an SEC school. That was a stipulation in getting out of his LOI.
Posted on 4/13/12 at 8:38 am to Bryant91092
I don't think they can enforce that. You are either signed or not. A transfer is different. Not positive though. I don't recall past players released from LOI's being restricted, but it is common with transfers.

Gene Swindoll ? @GeneSwindoll
MSU signee Josh Gray has been granted his release by MSU. It was mutual. He will not be able to sign with another SEC school.
That's from a guy that runs MSU's scout site.
I found this article as well. LINK

As expected, Mississippi State released basketball signee Josh Gray from his scholarship, the school confirmed Wednesday. Gray, a point guard from Wheatley, Texas, said last month that he would ask for a release after coach Rick Stansbury retired. Gray signed with State during the fall signing period. Under an SEC bylaw, if Gray transfers to another SEC school then he cannot receive financial aid from that institution for his first two years in residence. MSU now has four signees remaining in its 2012 class, and with only five scholarship players returning, new coach Rick Ray can add up to four more players. The spring signing period began Wednesday, and Ray’s coaching staff is on the road this week trying to beef up the class. Read more: djournal.com - MSU releases signee Gray Ray on recruiting trail
