Has Morgan sent in his LOI?

He has a ceremony set up at John Curtis some time today. There was a story in The Advocate this morning with quotes from him talking about how excited he was to sign with LSU today, so I'm not worried about it.

Good deal, just didn't see anything on here saying it was official or on LSU's site so wanted to make sure he was still signing.

Think we have any surprise signings during the early period or is Trent banking on a better year brings better options or a new coach to fill the remaining 4 spots?

In my opinion, I think he is banking on a good year and a solid job footing for himself, which in turn will open up doors to a higher level of recruit.

I don't expect any early signees, except Morgan.

They refer to him as Brown for the whole article minus the 1st sentence. Appears to be his mom's last name so they got confused, doesn't look like he has changed his name.

FYI, losing Gathers has knocked St. Johns out of the Rivals Top 25 recruiting rankings.

Did not have time to read all 11 pages of this thread--can someone tell us who are the four of five schools that Gathers is considering, now that he has apparently eliminated St. John's? And what do you think are LSU's chances of landing him?

He says he hasn't eliminated SJ.

I would say SJ, LSU, UConn, possibly Arizona, Texas, Kansas. List will change as more schools contact him now that he is back on the market.

Love to see LSU get Louis Dabney also. This kid has nice size and can flat out shoot the ball. Outside of Morgan, he probably is the best shooter in the state. I was very surprise that he committed to Tulane because the kid has said on record that he always wanted to go to LSU. In my opinion, he is a better overall talent for his position than Gathers in. Morgan and Dabney at LSU would be lethal. Dabney although a combo guard who can play both guard positions and is extremely athletic could play the role as a taller point guard at 6-3 than we currently have on the roster. He is known as a penetrator who can create his own shot and is tireless on defense.

I went to Riverside in HS and everything I've heard about Rico is that he wants to go somewhere where he can get lots of playing time and be one of the teams biggest contributors.

I hope Alabama tries to recruit Gathers. We've missed on all our targets. We went from an unbelievable class last year to nobody this year.

zero chance that you guys could land Gathers my bro. No offense. He's either LSU or a big program.

Agreed. IMO, it's going to be a program like Kansas or Texas ..... or LSU.

A lot of gray on Gray

Point guard Josh Gray was committed to Mississippi State, then opened his recruitment and then was back on board with Mississippi State all in the last month. Now it is looking unlikely that he will sign in the early period. There are still questions concerning his academic eligibility and if he will also just open up his recruitment.

From Rivals.com

His recruitment is really wierd. I wish LSU would get on him, but I understand why they have reservations. The kid had to wear a tracking ankle bracelet in high school in Lake Charles -- during games, and get permission from hi probation officer to go to away games. He's a talent, though.

Dabney to sign with Tulane tomorrow

Guess Tulane's big win against Nicholls St. enabled Dabney to make his decision to sign with the Green Wave...

That kid from Peabody is not LSU worthy. Saw him play the other night against St. Aug. He just wasnt impressive.
