LSUPTL79, have you heard anything else? Mainieri mentioned in the press conference today that they already had some guys in place.

Only Cechinni and Ross worked, couldn't find the other two, any suggestions?

Here is a blog from a recent Perfect Game tournament which was won by the Marucci Broncos. Several of our signees are on the team and performed well. Southall was the MVP. Burris and McCune pitched one hit shutouts while touching 90.

1st and supp round signing bonuses
This was updated on 6/17 for the players who have signed in the first and supplemental rounds. The numbers may give us a small indication as to what's going to be offered to some of our guys who were drafted.

Based on that, maybe $1 mil for Lee and $800k for Ranaudo? Or will Lee's be much lower considering it's the Dodgers and Ranaudo's much higher considering it's the Red Sox?

I think this will be the case. Also, I think AR said he's going to the Cape league to try and up his offer price. I mainly was thinking about what this means for a guy like Gausman.

ETA: also how it would affect Cecchini, who I just realized hasn't actually signed yet either. (but still probably will)

Gausman was absolutely destroyed in his last start in the California Collegiate Summer league. He gave up 8 or 9 runs in 1.1 IP, including a grand slam and a couple wild pitches. I think at worst we end up with an either/or situation with Gausman and Lee...with our best case being the Dodgers decide not to meet Lee's demands and Gausman's performance causing them not to risk meeting his either. Hopefully Leon took as much of their money as he could, and the other picks between Lee and Gausman also sign for good bonuses.

Has anyone heard anything on Eades? I think someone in this thread, or maybe another, knows one of his coaches or something. I heard he may have injured his arm again.

Adam,

See the post below that I had asked you about. As we discussed on the rant last night, I think we came out ahead. Considering we got Jones and Gausman.

Adam,

Who are the must haves from this class? You know a lot more about this than me. Considering who is not coming back on the current team, i.e. Gibbs, AR, Landry, etc.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys such as Kevin Koziol (3B), Ryan Eades (RHP/OF), Tyler Ross (C), Nick Rumbelow (RHP), and Marcus Davis (OF). (These are the must haves) not top 5 round talents, but all-sec players.

I now want everybody to take the players I'm about to list and label them a win-win situations, and I'll tell you why.

Gausman, Bedrosian, Lee, Cecchini, Jones, Southall, Leblanc, and Deshields Jr.

These eight are "5 stars" if you will. You have to tell yourself everyday no matter how much you want them to play college ball that they are going to sign with a major league team. All eight would see immediate time in 2011. Any player from this list that ends up at LSU in the fall is a "huge" cope for Mainieri.

LSU did come out ahead. Mainieri signed a HUGE class of both quality and quantity and he got three five star players in Eades, Jones, and Gausman would were expected to sign before the draft.
