Project, why hasn’t LSU recruited Braylon Montgomery from Walker who’s committed to Oklahoma?
At this point I'm pretty sure he's signed with them.
I don't know how much we pressed for him but it looks like we were at least evaluating him.
Someone closer to the situation may have more specifics.

Gotcha
Well hopefully we might can land him in the portal if he does well there

Baseball America just updated their draft rankings and expanded them to 300 players.
Here are the LSU impacts, with their previous ranking and current ranking:
Name POS 4 (200) 5 (300)
Derek Curiel OF 8 20
Jensen Hirschkorn RHP 24 26
Logan Schmidt LHP 23 27
Jake Brown OF 136 44
Dominic Santarelli OF/1B 62 65
Cooper Sides RHP 67 86
Malachi Washington OF 61 93
Lucas Nawrocki LHP/OF 101 121
Anthony Murphy OF 98 138
Nathaneal Davis OF 99 143
Steven Milam INF 84 144
Will Adams OF/1B NR 150
Wessley Roberson OF 103 189
Coleton Brady RHP 200 201
CJ Weinstein 2B 177 234
Dylan Blomker RHP NR 252
Cooper Moore RHP NR 258
On the positive side, CJ Weinstein keeps falling and is now listed as a 2B instead of a SS. On the negative side, Will Adams debuted on the list at 150.

Good to see our OFs dropping further down the list. Outside of Braun (projects at 1B?) and Harden (if he stays) we are starting over next season. Assume Louque at LSUE if we pursue stays in the IF.

Next years roster is gonna be interesting
I think a lot of guys who would normally enter the portal won’t because there will be a lot of positions open
We have to kill it in the portal and hope we hit on the high school class and they don’t leave for the draft
Project, which plays are draft eligible sophomores this draft? I know curiel is one

I don't know if anyone heard but Jay commented on the radio the other night about the fans needing to get in Milam's ear about coming back for his senior season basically. That tells me it isn't 0% chance if Jay is already even mentioning it. It'll probably be similar to Frey where he'll be right on the cutoff line of having his number met or not when compared to a massive NIL offer.

We need to get our NIL for baseball increased if you want a chance of that happening.

I kinda like our recruits trending down. I think it makes it a little easier to get to campus when they are feeling undervalued.
Any chance with Curiel if he keeps dropping?

I know he's a '27, but Jordin Griffin appears to be having a much better season (purely based on twitter clips) as a junior.
I wonder if we have a shot of getting him to campus.

We all knew there was no shot but boy wouldn’t it have been nice to have Frey in the middle of this lineup about now.

If y’all had to make an educated guess based on draft projections and past history
Who makes it to campus and who goes to the draft this next season

I won't say any guy is a lock to do anything because we've seen some crazy things happen.
But I'd be very surprised if we got Schmidt and Hirschkorn to campus.

The NHSI tournament is going on right now and a ton of LSU commits are playing in it for their high schools.
Here is a link to the schedule, there are box scores of each game: LINK
Trinity Christian, Tampa Jesuit, Orange Lutheran, and Venice HS all have LSU commits on them.

Cooper Burti, LHP from New Jersey that we were in on after he decommitted from Tennessee in the wake of Vitello leaving for the Giants, committed to Mississippi State over the weekend. 2027 recruit.

Miss State is pouring a ton of money into baseball right now.

Ethan Frey will begin the season at High A Asheville in the Astros organization.
If he performs as expected, I'd guess he'll only get about 100-150 plate appearances there before moving up to AA.

Baseball is king at State. All the guys I work with from there say they are all in on baseball because they know they can never win a title in anything else.

Oh no doubt schools like them and Arkansas know they won't compete in football so they're pouring their money into other sports.

Gage Jump is starting the season in AAA in the A's system. He's getting the start today for the Las Vegas Aviators.

I'd imagine he sees the bigs soon. The A's don't have enough pitching this season to keep him down long
