Looks like it did start at noon. Guess LSU will post a link once it's over

The roster I saw had Grant Fontenot on it.

43 man roster...stacked IMO. If my quick count was accurate 17 RHP and 4 LHP (5 if you count Brown).

Jay Johnson says Jake Brown will pitch every week this fall. Adds he’s a very talented pitcher who peeled back last year due to the amount of left handers on the team and that the expectation is for him to be a two-way player this year. #LSU

Interesting number for John Pearson. Hoping it’s a sign of things to come for him!

37% of roster is from Louisiana. I think that is pretty good in this age of the portal.

Fontenot wasn’t listed on the lsusports.net roster, but he is on Koki’s.

Koki is still employed

Nothing said about the new 35 Scholarships or future plans on the indoor infield

Connor Simon is listed on the fall roster, but Grant Fontenot is not.

I would have loved to give this info out beforehand but considering his arm history, he wanted to make sure there wasn’t any injury set backs. He was a really good HS pitcher, throws 93-94 with movement. Hopefully he can get it back, throw strikes, and contribute to the teams success.

the indoor infield likely gonna have to wait
Johnson did indicate he was concerned that the new seating structure could impact throws that get away from first base, it might be an adventure with those throws bouncing off the new seating structure

I skimmed it fast and read it as “William Schmidt is in a boot” and I almost shite myself.

Most interesting comment I got from Jay's presser was that there will be 4 guys competing at catcher this fall (Priester, Arrambide, Hernandez, and Yamin). No Bear Jones or Ethan Frey.

Arrambide probably has the most upside, all freshmen acclimate on different timetables.

I don't see any reason Jones comes off 1B.

Hernandez has more flexibility position wise.

Considering you saw three catchers in games last year, you will likely see something similar this year

Some interesting tidbits from the roster given out at the presser.

Hernandez listed in a UTIL role. I wonder if that would include him seeing any time at 3B in addition to 1B/C

Beck listed as OF/1B/LHP. I wonder how much time he will actually see on the mound in the fall.

Evans listed as RHP/UTIL

Josh Pearson listed as OF/3B

John Pearson is of/3B

Beck and Brown will get some time on mound during fall primarily due to not as many left handed pitchers on the roster
