My counter argument would be: if they're even, just play the freshman, since he's your future. I can see both sides of the argument. My hope is that one separates. Otherwise, I'll be very nervous.
I understand that; but right now we are saying "even" based solely on production in fall ball.
And if they are even there, then they aren't truly even. Again, Thompson has 2 yrs. experience in the SEC; so he is a known quantity on this level. Guidry is still an unknown and will remain so until he does play. So unless he does something to greatly separate himself, then you go with the known, not the unknown.

Picked up first class of 2027 commi
tment from Rickey Lopez
Rated 10th in the nation
You're the IG correspondent, so I'm guessing you're seeing it there. I haven't seen it on Twitter yet. But I'll start adding him to the list. I think this is around the same time we got our first 2026 last year.
We are far from the first school to get a 2027 recruit.
ETA: If you search "Ricky Lopez 2027" in twitter there is a highlight of him from PG Select Festival that was played at Tennessee in August. He's athletic as hell.
ETAA: Bubba Coleman committed on 12/15/21, so we're about 2 months earlier than that with Lopez.

Michael o’ brien standing out this week at the big wood bat tournament in Jupiter. Wish lsu could have nabbed him

I agree and still think Thompson starts atleast first few weeks. Guidry has looked overwhelmed at times is what I have gathered.

I think Guidry is only going to be at LSU for 2 years correct? If so, play him now if they think he's ready.

That was a great play. His Instagram bio says class of 2027 and 2024 free agent, which is interesting.

I mean he’s eligible after 2 years. If he’s not ready you don’t just throw him In there because of it. If he’s your best option then yes.

He's from the DR but currently lives in New York, if he goes back there (like Alex Reyes when he left New Jersey for the DR) he can go through the international free agent process rather than the US system with the draft.
Can you screen shot his commitment announcement or IG bio showing him committed? I haven't been able to find a second verification.

That's what I meant if he and Thompson are close you still play Thompson but play Guidry as much as possible. Have CJJ pick his spots with Guidry.

Louisiana Tech beat auburn in a scrimmage today something like 11-3.

I saw Jace LaViolette had three home runs in A&M's scrimmage. Did he de-commit when Manieri left?
Posted on 10/15/22 at 8:22 pm to GeauxAggie972
Not long after. Apparently he didn’t jive with Jay so that ogre that used to be the recruiting coordinator here got him to A&M

Gotcha, that's what I figured. Would be fun to have that bat around as well just for the hell of it, but I'll take what we've got
Plus I think A&M's pitching is down this year
