Man that is some funny backtracking from Kendall.

LSU is in contact with Burns. LSU is in contact with all of the available top transfer arms. Jay is going to do his best to load up the boat with pitching.

His worst bit is he has a buddy who is a scout. No one believes that shite

With Skenes, Floyd, Taylor, and Edward (likely) leaving, and Shores likely not back in some form until mid-season, Jay needs at least 4 more high quality arms. "Quality" meaning better than about 8 of the returning pitchers.

Im convinced his buddy, who is a scout, is the recruiting board

LINK
Link above is CJJ interview with Perfect Game this week.
Interesting nugget from the interview is that Jay is most passionate about building a team and having each player put the team needs above their own. Not saying this would keep him from recruiting Burns, but would it push Burns down the list a little in terms of priority compared to others who may be perceived as being “less selfish.”

I also assumed it was Brandon Larson

If then. No need to rush him back

In the coaches committee meeting Jay mentioned his 2024 closer was already on the team. I believe he was referring to Moffett. Perhaps just trying to build him up because Moffett was there. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what Jay sees him as.

Moffett hit 98 preseason but he lived closer to 95.

Personally I like Guidry to close. He’s got that demeanor already from this season and it would be easy to plug in a defensive replacement while he takes the mound in the 9th and not as difficult as starting/playing the field.

We need as many quality arms we can get to make up for the guys leaving and the guys still recovering from injury and possible injuries.

We need a couple, but i dont think we need to go crazy. We have some solid arms here and solid ones coming in

Not sure if he still is, but Theriot’s older brother was a scout at one time.

We need all the quality arms we can get. We are losing the majority of productive arms

Hurd
Ackenhausen
Loer
Woods
Herring
Guidry
Coleman
Good start but agreed. Need a few more. Crazy we’ll be without Taylor, shores, Noot, and Edwards. What could’ve been there.

Shouldn’t Noot be back relatively early in 2024?
