Yea, I’ve been following drafts long enough to know this
but if a guy is projected to go top 10 he’s probably not the 30th best prospect, especially in baseball where the guy may never step foot on the mlb team. Mlb.com has Crawford top 15 on their big board, which isn’t a stretch for a top 10 pick.

Yeah, he seems to be a bit more involved now than in the past. My speculation (because that's all I have), is that he's coordinating visits while the coaches are out on the road recruiting.
Because we were getting reports on here about Kelly (and potentially even Johnson) watching Herring in the playoffs in Texas, while the portal started popping and that's when Tutko started becoming more visible.
I could be wrong, but that's the 2+2 I put together.

I don't subscribe anywhere anymore (lsu specific), but I think 247's baseball coverage is about to pick up. I may think about re-subscribing there for it.

Glenn West just joined and has been doing a great job so far. I've kind of been anchoring a offseason tracker thread and using a mix of what you bring here and what I've found to help keep track but I have given you the shoutout on it as well for the info. I think they would appreciate your insight. Everyone has started to be vocal about loving the increase in baseball coverage/threads.

Not trying to derail your thread, Project, but I see Fitz and Kelly getting some love in Kendall's "Hire Wire".
Guess that comes with the territory of a competent coaching staff.

Yeah. I trust Jay to be able to hire competent top flight coaches; but I'd like to see a little consistency in the staff for at least the first 2-3 years in order to get the program rolling. By then Jay can fill in new coaches as needed and not miss a beat.

Yeah, I brought up the Kelly stuff yesterday with the Washington opening.
Fitz seems to be a candidate at multiple places. I really thought Baylor would get the coach from McLennan CC. Mack Rhodes (Baylor AD) previously had a baseball hire at Mizzou. He passed up Tony Vitello to hire Steve Bieser.

If he gets his number sounds like he would go pro. The usual nothing earth shattering. He talked about if he comes to LSU he would try in the fall to pitch and play in the field. Hasn’t pitched bullpens because he is nursing a back injury.
