They have video on the Perfect Game website of Haddad swinging it as a sophomore. He's made adjustments to what you see there, but you can still see the framework for reference. Very simple to pinpoint what adjustments he needed to make to get to the leading average guy in the Catholic league.

Never say never but I would think his chance to play here is just a little over 0%

LesterEarl do you realize Dugas was a SS his entire life till he got to LSU?
He’s been at LSU for four seasons and has never played 3B. Why do you think

IMO that’s what he will play at the next level. He doesn’t have true speed to play the outfield. He was an infielder until Paul moved him to the outfield. If he stays which is a big if he is not gonna stay to be a DH.

Mahtook said he will play 3B next year.

I hope Gavin can play 3rd base. A lot depends on who we can luck out with our signing class and get through the portal.

Dugas played 3rd in game 2 at Alabama and it was the best anyone looked playing 3rd all season in my opinion. He made every play smoothly. I think he is the starting 3rd baseman with Crews, Pearson, and Stevenson in the outfield unless transfers or freshmen change that.

If I'm not mistaken I believe LSU was in contact with the SS Day from Missouri.

PM moved him to get bat in lineup.

He’s not playing 3rd after what this team just went thru defensively

Below average OF’s don’t move to the left side of an infield when they become a pro. I’m not trying to be a smartass or mean or anything like that. Just very unlikely

Idk man Austin Nola became a big league catcher so I’ll just say anything can happen lol

Nola was a stud college SS tho. Those guys can acclimate to many positions
Dugas doesn’t have a position because he is not good anywhere on defense

I just watched highlights on UCLA portal pitcher Thatcher Hurd. He is out indefinitely with a Pars Defect the same injury that Josh Smith had. It usually takes 3 months of rest to recover. IMO he is an absolute take if CJJ can get him. He has filthy stuff, could be a Friday or Saturday starter!

Don't think LSU has any contact with Day. Guess they have their SS targets already. Day is likely a draft risk and probably in the portal for a backup plan. LSU probably looking into other options that have to play another year or 2 of college ball.

A little bit more info on BYU pitcher Janzen Keisel:
46.1 IP, 58 K, 25 BB, only 4 HR given up. Made 9 starts in 19 appearances. Was up to 97 mph during the season. Seemed to really turn it on late in the season when he went from the rotation to the bullpen but I don't think that means he couldn't be a starter going forward.
He's currently pitching in the Northwoods League for the St Cloud Rox. He's made 2 appearances there: a 5 inning start and a 1 inning relief appearance. He's got 13 strikeouts across those 6 innings and only 2 walks (both from his start. His WHIP in the Northwoods right now is .33, amazing. It looks like something clicked for him and I think we've got a real chance at pulling him. He was only a freshman and would have 3 more years of eligibility. He would be draft eligible in 2024.
ETA: His first Northwoods League start is on ESPN+. Rox vs Mud Puppies. Due to technical issues the broadcast picks up in the third inning so you don't get to see all 5 innings. You only get the 4th and 5th. He had 8 of his 10 Ks in the innings you can't see, unfortunately.
ETAA: Don't worry about trying to watch him pitch on ESPN+, technical issues popped up again and you actually can't see anything he did that game. If you wanted to see video of him, you may be able to find stuff on the WCC site, I've watched games on there before. I really want to find video of his outing against Oklahoma State where he had some good stats.

Let the dominos begin to fall

They were on him very soon after he hit the portal. They were visiting him the Monday before the SECT and had him on campus this week. I heard yesterday they felt like they were going to get him. I never even heard of a visit happening from our side. It could be that we don't have beat writers covering it, though. They have beat writers (not recruiting writers, actual newspaper people) writing articles highlighting why guys would want to transfer there.
