could really use a Jaden Noot confirmation here soon
Does anyone know if Noot had a specific dollar amount in mind? This article has me nervous. The Brewers has the 22nd most money, but it looks like they will under slot a lot of guys.
Brewers swing for the fences on Day 3 of draft

the line on Noot says "It's unlikely the Brewers will be able to sign him." I felt good about that article, if you ask me.

Hunt broke down the Brewers slot earlier...thinks at most they could offer $600K; I feel better about how things sit.
He had to have turned that (or more) earlier in the draft, he'd really be taking a loss to sign.

Maybe they'll throw a bunch of money at the kid from Delgado and screw Ole Miss.
The kid committed to Mississippi State has already said he's going to school.

The article specifically says they probably won’t sign Noot. They gave some pretty detailed profiles with comments from the brewers execs on the earlier HS picks with strong commitments. It honestly sounds like they just picked a bunch of HS kids they probably won’t get and will just go down the list and see if one bites on the offer. Sounds like our guys aren’t the first ones to get that call either

I get it, but stranger things have happened. Also, some kids just don't want to go to school. That's why I was curious about his number.

Do those kids generally move to campus early to spend more time at school than otherwise obligated to? Because that's what Noot did.

I think Noot entertains an offer of $500K plus if they can get there. That's top 5 round money.

Yeah I can see that. Also think if he would’ve been drafted in the 5th round, he would’ve gotten over slot so my guess is his number is much higher, so he probably would’ve had to come way down on it. Hopefully not. I’m sure he’s already been offered that throughout the draft.

If be really disappointed if he left for 500k. I gotta think its got to be closer to a mil for him to leave

Personal feeling or something you're hearing?

Personal feeling, and the fact that he hasn't said anything concrete yet. He projected into around pick 75-100 but was sliding a bit. You'd think his number was probably about $750k - $1 mil and indicated he wanted to go to school. If they get him to $500-$750K, the wheels have to start turning. He can try to pitch his number up at LSU, or take his money now plus the contract and Chandler deal and look for a quick rise. I know we always say they bet on themselves when they pass up money, but sometimes they bet on themselves when they take the money.

That's fair. Honestly, whatever Noot chooses is good with me. I would love to have him, but Neal and shores making it was the prize for me at the end.
On another note, Christian Little has had a very up and down summer in the Cape but his last outing was encouraging

I want Noot bad. I think he’ll be an impact early and often, maybe even as much or more than Shores.

He doesn’t say anything in general, so the silence shouldn’t be concerning. As I stated earlier, he posted something LSU related during day 3 of the draft. His post before that was LSU related. If he has given any indications of what his plans are, it’s that he wants to be at school. Him getting his new sponsors to make him custom purple and gold equipment is probably a pretty good sign too.
Noot would have had to have a terrible weekend in Tiger Land to suddenly decide that moving across the country wasn’t a good idea

That's the disappointing thing about Kennedy. I felt he was the most polished HS recruit. I thought he would contribute early. I do think Noot and Shores have more upside though. I'm certainly not complaining though. We all agreed that the 50/50 guys would make or break our draft. If we get Noot, I think we got all 5 of them. I'm still riding a high.

I agree with that. Shores may have a little developing to do with control and secondary pitches. From everything I have read and scouting reports I saw, I think Herring, Bucknam and Noot are more complete pitchers right now. Shores probably has the most upside and potential though.
I think Noot makes it. I can't see him suddenly bringing his number from what was probably over 1 mil to 5-600K. Crazier things have happened though so it is still a wait and see. His instagram posts are encouraging, though no direct post like most of us would like to see, and the article from above comments seem like the Brewers know its a stretch.
I think Shores and Little are very similar pitchers right now. Working with Wes can have both of them become really dominant.

I know it's only like 2 weeks from the deadline, but I'm ready to start seeing some deals get done.
Fortunately for us the Brewers 11-20 picks are a lot of Hail Marys, so maybe they focus on guys other than Noot and use up their bonus before even being able to make him an offer.
Multiple things I've read consider him a tough sign, but the Lege kid from Delgado is considered 50/50.
I know they'll be able to save some money from the middle rounds but hopefully their top 3 picks don't take haircuts and maybe even go up to round numbers.
